Is it good. I have a tom tom already. This co-pilot gps is on my partners phone. By all accounts it looks pretty good. If it is good I will keep the tom tom in my van.
co-pilot is very good but after having used both i prefer tomtom. they have similar features but maps, voices, poi's etc are more readily available (free) for tomtom.

I want to leave the one receiver that came with the program on the truck and have another GPS receiver to plug in to the computer on the car
No. But most of them will. Here are a couple of different solutions for you.
1. Get Microsoft Streets and Trips which comes with its own GPS receiver. It costs around $75 at Best Buy and other stores. That receiver will work with CPT 11, plus you will have a copy of Streets and Trips.
2. Get a Delorme LT-40 receiver from Best Buy, Radio shack, online, etc. It works with CPT 11 once you install the Delorme "Serial Port Emulator" program from Delorme's site.
3. Get a BU-353 from this site: http://www.buygpsnow.com/bu-353-353-bu-g lobalsat-gps-mouse-water-proof-receiver- sirf-stariii-usb-gps-water-bu-353-waas-4 55.aspx. ($37) It works quite well also.
There are others out there, but those 3 are the units that I have experience with.
has anyone used this or recommends it??
Excellent navigational GPS device. Tell it where you want to go and it will tell you where you want to turn next in a nice voice that gives you directions like that the whole way.
What's really good is that they give you the means to keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road and you really need that when you're driving a truck.

I have been looking at the N95 and the additional software "Co-pilot" which is around £80 and comes with Voice navigation etc.
But does it cost any extra to actually use the GPS with Copilot to have a sat nav. is there any extra charges from your service provider.
thanks
Using GPS on your phone or any device is free. The only thing you would have to look out for is programs that use a data connection to download maps. (Windows Live Search, Google Maps etc.) If you already have a maps pack that came with your software you will be fine.
I am prompted to check the connections when I run the program. The following message appears in the GPS details "need to send reinit signal detected". I have Copilot and a GPS jacket installed. It used to work fine but recently comletely stopped picking up a signal. I believe there is a problem with the GPS device.
If it worked before, you know the limitations, so I'll not consider that.
The message indicates to me that you have a connector problem somewhere, probably the antenna connector.
Best take it to a reputable PC maintainer, or contact the makers.
