garmin gps 18

We recently got them installed on our company trucks. Can they track us 24/7, without being signed on?

A GPS (Global Positioning System) is a reciever only. Contrary to popular belief, no one can track you simply because you have a GPS.

A GPS interfaced with a cell phone, 2 way radio, or satellite uplink can be tracked. The GPS is feeding position info to a transmitter in these cases.

A GPS 18 requires a connection to a computer to display position info. If you are logged into such a display, it's not likely they are tracking you in real time. As with all computer based nav displays, however, one can go back and look where one has been.

Yes it is,
I used the drivers from garmin.com.
The unit works great with Fugawi But,, couldn’t get spanner(from garmin web site) to load so I never did get nobeltec admiral to work under vista.
As you can tell I use this for backup on my sailboat so I don’t know about inland use

Yes.

During these days there is a glitch in the Garmin GPS. And all the connected USB drives(pen drives and webcams yea) wont work until they repair it. The GPS has a minor problem and they announced about a week ago that they will find out the prob and fix it ASAP.
