gps car tracker

I want to find a good GPS tracking system for my car. It has to be lightweight and easily hid. Also something that isn't extremely expensive.
I'm not looking for a navigational system. I am looking for a device that I can track my car with from home when someone else is driving my car.

A GOOD vehicle tracker is not going to be cheap since it really is important to make sure the product you are buying is functional when you need it.
With that said, you can try renting a GPS tracking system from GPS4Rent at http://www.gps4rent.com/ and select the tracking system you wish to rent.
If you only need it for a weekend or a week, it would be cheaper to rent it since tracking system that you can track real time requires a subscription service much like the cell phone and it may not be worth it if for you to commit to a contract if you are not sure you really need it for a year or two.

My parents put a gps tracker in my car. I am in high school and they dont want me to leave campus and are watching my every move. I have no clue where the device is or what it looks like.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I would find the device and what i should do once/if i find it.

If it's your car and you pay for it and you pay insurance then I would check with state laws cause it could be illegal but if you don't own the car there's really nothing you can do

If it would be a factory installed GPS tracker, it would probably be in the manual. If it's a hidden GPS that someone installed, you probably can't. Unless you open op everything and crawl under your car to check every spot.

One thing to consider is that a GPS needs an antenna with line of sight to the sky, so you might look for that.

if my car is stolen, i want to be able to track it with a gps. i want a tracker that i can turn on after it has been stolen.

are these for sale to regular consumers? if so, where can i buy one? which type/model should i look for?

Maybe, but you don't need it. The hookers are everywhere so a hi-tech device to find them is unneccessary.
