gps car tracking

hi, i need the most efficient brand of GPS online tracking device that i can place on my daughter's car (long story of why later) to be able to track her trips online in real time. I would prefer one that is not detectable by her and one the i will be able to track online in real time (can be hours off since we often need to know when and where she is immediately) thanks!

That's illegal and an invasion of her privacy if she doesn;t know about it...gust give her time limits before handing her the keys to her car.

My dad owns a used car dealership. He recently purchased a GPS tracking device off Ebay relatively cheap. The intent is to install GPS systems in the more expensive cars we sell so that if people skip town or move we have a way to locate the car for repossession. My question is how do units like this work? From my understanding you have to buy a SIM card and install it in this thing. Then from there you can send a SMS text message to the SIM card and it will respond with Latitude and Longitude of the unit.

Neither one of us really understand completely how this works. Where we could get our hands on a SIM card or if there is a way to get one without a monthly fee or anything like that.

Also is there a GPS tracking unit we could buy that wouldn't need a SIM card that we could just track online or something? We don't really need anything fancy and would prefer something with no monthly fee. It's likely that we'd never have to use it but if someone takes off with a $10,000 car we'd like to be able to track it down.

Any suggestions?

You might check in to SPOT. Its one I just became aware of recently. There is a "tracking option" which causes it to report its position. No other device is needed.

my used town car has a gps tracking system on it that the person i bought it from installed. for some odd reason he wont tell me where it is. so i took it to a body shop and they told me where the antenna is but the cant find where the gps trackers brain is. they told me it would be best to just cut the antenna. the thing is i want to be able to use the antenna when i park my car somewhere im not familiar with. so i just want to be able to turn it off and on. so they told me to find a material that can interrupt the signal. can anyone help????

This question really does not make sense. First, if someone can find the antenna, it is just a matter of following the antenna cable to the GPS engine?
If this is a tracking system, then parking your car somewhere that you are not familiar with will not help you at all, I guess unless you have the software for the device and carry a laptop around with you that is capable of receiving the transmission? It would be much easier in this case if you do actually have a GPS engine on the car is to find it (follow the antenna lead or the unit would have to have power) and put in a switch to turn it on or off

I have never heard of this product but I have installed many of the TrackStick GPS Car Tracking Systems for my commercial customers and they work great plus they have been around awhile also you can read about them at their site and if interested you can buy them off ebay.....

I found out my physcho girlfriend put a GPS tracking device in my car (accutracking). Where exactly can you put these things and also what does it look like, I need this thing out of my car as soon as possible!!

Look for a cell phone... then turn it off or remove it... and get a court order to keep physco girl away from your car.
