gps lake maps

Im an avide fishermen looking for the best spots the Fish and with a little help from my GPS to catch those big ones.

The best way to go in my opinion would be a Lowrance H2O with a Lakemaster Pro Maps Wisconsin chip. Both are available at Gander or Cabelas and probably Fleet Farm as well. The price on those two items would add up to about 270 before tax for a black and white and 370 for color.

I found this website but forgot to bookmark it. You could browse the world by country and then by region and then by the type of map you were looking for. They had street, topographic, marine and I think sandbox maps. You could download each map in a couple of different formats including .img. I remember for California under topographic they had Monterey Bay, Yosemite, and Lake Tahoe. For other countries I remember Afghanistan, New Zealand and the list went on forever.

I have a Lowrance 520c w/gps. Is there a solution for adding maps to the unit via the SD card slot? I have several maps in a pdf file format from local fish and game and would like to use them in my unit. I have heard of MapCreate does this allow pdf files to be converted and used in my unit?

Need good GPS I can take from my car to my boat. Needs lake maps and charting function.
No, I need one for both, I want to only buy one. I am looking at Magellan Crossover or one made by Lowrance.

The applications are too different. I think you are better off getting one for the car and one for the boat.
