gps map coordinates

Please kindly help, I want to indicate the production areas of some crops on Nigerian Map. I have the GPS coordinate readings already.

I have all the points in lat and long of the area I want to map out

Use a GIS, Geographic Information System. It can take your points and plot them accurately in any coordinate system you choose. Popular ones are ArcMap and GeoMedia.

Google Earth is a great program for this - you can find and download it at http://earth.google.com

If you don't want to download and install a program you can always use Google Maps too - it is available at http://maps.google.com

The coordinates were given to me in this form:

41deg .05.625 min N
90 deg 12.500 min W

I was not sucessful at entering this information into GOOGLE MAPS to view a map of that location. Perhaps the GPS data needs conversion to another FORMAT ?

Will you please take me through the procedure on how to do this. This is the Google Map site.
