gps receiver with radio frequency

Sensitivity is one of the most important characteristics of a GPS receiver. In this video, learn how to measure a receiver#39;s sensitivity using ...
I've read the wikipedia.com entry for GPS and some of it just doesn't gel with me.
Anyone have any pointers to a description online on how most gps receivers can calculate the correct time that an interested "newbie" would appreciate?
I'm also interested how a gps receiver can discriminate satellites' C/A trains with multiple radios when all satellites are transmitting at the same frequency? Wouldn't all the radios (like on a 12-radio GPS receiver) be listening to exactly the same thing? Seems like they'd all be stepping on themselves and not be separable.
Most electronics have manuals/directions on their websites. Try the manufacturer's website and if you can't find it, try an electronics retailer like Circuit City. They have a very extensive website that includes brand name reviews by customers as well as all kinds of other helpful information. Good luck!

Is there any difference? I'm thinking about buying my step dad a Garmin StreetPilot® c320 GPS Receiver. Is this a regular gps system or not? I'm really not too familiar with these things so your help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!
If a buy a receiver will I need to buy something else with it?
GPS is a system of satellites that were put in orbit by the US government with tax payer dollars.
A GPS receiver is a piece of equipment that measures the signals from these satellites and plots your position on Earth.
The StreetPilot is a unit with a built-in GPS receiver, as well as pre-loaded detailed mapping of city streets.
If you're on a tight budget, I recommend looking at the Garmin Nuvi 205, which I've seen for as low as $120. Check out the Black Friday deals at: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com --> This site doesn't sell anything, it only lists ads for Black Friday sales.

I have installed Garmin Que and GPS Gate 2 software but still could not get the phone's GPS receiver to function with the Garmin Que software. Whats the problem please?
I don't no, sorry. Good Luck though. Try calling the company and asking.
My husband purchased this GPS for me and he doesn't really know what he bought, he just figured it would be a good one. Is there a difference between a GPS Receiver and a regular Auto GPS Navigation system and is it a good one?
I have a Nuvi 350. Though discontinued, It's a lovely GPS for what it is.
"Auto GPS Navigation System" typically (though not always) refers to an in-dash unit.
Between the absurd price, the quality of the maps, the price and availability of map upgrades, and the inabilty to take it with me when I travel in a rental car, I recommend the handheld or dashtop products like a Nuvi over an in-dash.

Improve Your Nokia N97#39;s GPS Receiver
Brkix, a member of the Nokia Users Forum , create a post and a video that showcases how one can dramatically improve the built-in GPS receiver on the Nokia N97. brkix, a veteran Nokia user of 15 years, expresses his opinions on the surprisingly weak GPS receiver on N97. I am sure everyone will agree that it is simple unacceptable that a user has to create a DIY antenna with a thin copper wire and some glue or tape on such a high-end device like the Nokia N97.
It is highly recommended you do not try this fix until brkix has posted his official instructions.
