I stuck Garmin adhesive disk for handheld GPS onto my car's windshield without seeing Garmin's note that it is "permanent"!
I'm planning to sell my car and the buyer wants none of it!
What is the safest (/simplest) way to remove this dashboard adhesive disk?
Thanks!
Try Goo Gone and/or a single edge razor blade and scrape it off the glass. Glass cleaner for anything left behind.

I've been shopping around for handheld gps's that can get to a waypoint but also give turn by turn directions for driving. I only want to spend a max of $150 and that is appearing to be very challenging. I have found the Garmin eTrex Legend Cx for $150, but I think I'd have to pay extra for street directions that involve more than the interstate(correct me if I'm wrong). Will $150 or less buy a good portable GPS for a car that can handle waypoints like a handheld GPS?
The Legend Cx (and it successor Legend HCx) can autoroute, but you will have to buy maps separately for those units. It will cost $70-100, and the Legends don't speak directions to you. However, they will be more durable should you take them into the woods and off-road. The nuvi200 can be found for $150-200 and gives spoken directions.
The Legend HCx is equally as good about getting to a waypoint as the nuvi 200. The difference is that the nuvi is more for car navigation. It has a pedestrian mode, but using that to get a waypoint is not as easy as using the Legend. The nuvi can have waypoints added to it by either using Garmin's POI Loader to load stuff from the computer, or by entering the waypoint on the nuvi manually.

I've recently started trying to find geocaches, and although most of them I can find without a GPS, I was wondering if I could use the TomTom GPS in my car as a personal, handheld GPS device.
yes you can. because you arent moving that fast the accuracy would be much better and most car GPS systems have a battery and even a suspend mode to save power.
it might not give very good graphical data and you should try to get one that can be upgraded using a computer or through downloads you put on a SD card or something.
but, it will work. Just make sure to charge it up to full before you leave, and use its sleep mode if it has one.

Who makes a good GPS system for the car but not a permanently wired one? It has to be a plug-in model with a large screen and voice prompts but be inexpensive. I would like to also know where I can purchase it, say if Walmart or Best Buy carries it

best prices anywhere, a ton of choices and lots of reviews. I like my Magellan a lot. Garmin and TomTom both seem to be popular as well. good luck!
i just bought a car\handheld gps navigation unit. The software on it is horrible. i was wondering is there anyway of changing the software on the unit? Are there any third party navigation software for GPS devices? It has 1Gb of storage space on the unit.
if you mean the layout of the buttons and the navigation of the menus then no, unless they have a firm ware update for the unit. you can download other maps for a price online.

GPS Tracking: Why Would I Need to Buy a Garmin Handheld GPS?
These types of things can assist an individual in truly feeling alive, which can be when somebody's passions are getting utilized, but what about the struggles and/or mishaps. Let us say for instance you park your car or truck at the cabin and set off for a long hike during the winter season. There is absolutely no better time to explore nature than during the winter! The trees are all barren, the surface is packed with white snow and the deer are out and about. For me personally, there is no better time to be alive! However, when dusk arrives and the light for the day has started to subside, have you lost your location? Would you really know where you are? Let's say a fresh new snow fall attracts your attention and you begin observing this wonderful natural occurrence and lose your way, and considering the snow falling, all your tracks have been totally covered up. Thats usually where the Garmin handheld GPS comes into play.
