I am planning to buy a NOKIA 5800 .It has a Integrated GPS for pedestrian and car navigation but I want to know how is it different than the normal GPS .
Your nokia has the gps built-in. although it has it built in, you still gonna need an application like at&t navigator in order to use it. I don't know if nokia has an app for gps, but I bet they do. Hope this is what you were looking for and hope it helps.

This phone has everything, including one major flaw. It breaks down a lot because it can't handle all the technology built into such a small gadget.
This is the opinion of many who had the phone then returned it because of that. Even when I called my mobile phone company to get an upgrade, they even said they had many returned N95s.
Can I turn off the wireless network on my blackberry 8330 and just use the integrated gps with google maps???? Just so it dosent cost me any mony and uses the gps satelites. instead of a lot of data.
The GPS radio has nothing really to do with the wireless radio. You can use the GPS radio without using data. However, Google Maps uses data AND the GPS radio. It uses data to update the map location, while it uses the GPS radio to pinpoint your location.
So turning off the wireless network would render Google Maps useless.

I'm looking for a PDA/GPS device that runs windows mobile and is reliable. I've seen plenty out there, but most are from companies that I've never heard of, so I'm not sure how great those companies are. I'm looking for something in the $300 price range. Any help? Thanks!

Will a smartphone with an integrated GPS receiver work independently without the use of the phone and without a contract?
Reason being, I would like to buy a smartphone to use just for the sat nav as going abroad and want something that is small and that the battery will last longer than 2 hours like my existing car tomtom sat nav.
Plus any options of models would be appreciated.

Using satnav on a phone costs because it connects to the internet. I used my phone as satnav and i was a bit shocked when my monthly bill came!!
