Looking to buy a handheld GPS unit for geocaching. Considering Magellan Titon 1500 and Garmin Colorado 400. Question - will the Garmin topo Canada software work with the Magellan GPS, or is the software somehow proprietary, such that it will ONLY work with Garmin ?
It's proprietary, go with the Colorado, I'm looking for a new unit right now for caching. Considering the GPSmap60 but more and more thinking I should just go for the colorado, but I already have two pda's that I could use to go paperless.

My husband has a Magellan handheld GPS. He is having trouble getting suitable map software for motorbike riding in the Victorian State Forrest. He needs to have bush tracks, creeks, rivers and location of mountains etc. Any ideas of where to look would be great.

I take it you don't want to buy the software? The 'Discover Aus Streets and Tracks" is very good, but unfortunately only a few cents short of $400.

Magellan Unveils Updated VantagePoint Software, Triton Firmware ...
And there was much rejoicing. Magellan announced today that it has released a new version of its VantagePoint software, the program its Triton handheld owners use to manage their devices.
