megellan gps

I talked to megellan tech. service and they said it was because it got cold and the hard drive is damaged. This doesn't seem right to me as I live in Canada and it is cold in the winter. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

The 360 doesn't have a hard drive. It uses an SD card.
Try ejecting the card, then rebooting the unit and see what happens. If it complains that there is no date, turn it off again, reinsert the card, and turn it back on again and see what happens. That may be all it takes to get it working again.

to download the current firmware. Follow the instructions and update your firmware. This may take care of your problem.

I just bought it, I am trying to charge it but it won't connect. It was on long enough to charge to the first power bar. Please help!

i think you need to charge it all the way... one bar may be too low to run on battery power

Garmin. I own handheld and automotive GPS units from both companies. Magellan is going through some transitions with ownership, and product support in the past has been lackluster.

How much did yours cost.

Mine cost under $150, bought it last year, it's a TomTom. It is great, i put in the address of where i need to go and it tells me how to get there. If i make a wrong turn, it figures out what I need to do to get back on track. I can tell it that I want to avoid a certain road on my route (like a busy road with lots of traffic) and it will just avoid it. i have a tomtom one, it talks, but doesn't say street names, the kind that do that are much more expensive. Mine will say turn left in 400 yards. And of course it shows it all on the screen with a map. I've heard that the other brands are just as good, but the tomtom was the best deal at the time.

My father is a truck driver and he needs a GPS to watch out for low bridges and roads where trucks are prohibited. Right now he is using Megellan 3200 but it doesn't help him in this kind of situation.

This is the only one I could find that has the feature of height...it never hurts to double check ones route in the Motor Carrier Atlas that I am sure your dad has...these truck routing systems are not fail proof.
