Sky golf caddie GPS system, Need help programing.?

I need to know how to enter specific hazards for each hole. The manual is not very clear.

You can't. I have an SG4. If you are charting or recording a course yourself, you can only record the front, middle, and back of the green. Only the 3 and 4 star courses that are recorded by SkyCaddie and which you have to pay the annual membership fee, have distances to hazards, intelegreen feature, ETC.
When recording on your own, you only have the 3 green distance options. It kind of sucks, but the green data is the most important. I still use my laser range finder a lot and the skycaddie is nice when you are out in the woods with no line of sight. They could easily make it possible to do this, but obviously SkyCaddie wants to sell you the annual membership. Some of the other GPS golf range finders might let you do this, but not SkyCaddie.

Does anyone know if there is a GPS Golf application (ala Sky Caddie) for the iPhone in development?

Nothing I've heard.

Also, real-time navigation is prohibited unless otherwise stated by Apple (which I believe they're only letting TomTom).

But if you're simply using distance (I don't know how SkyCaddie works fully...just Wikipediad it) then that is definitely possible.

But whether SkyCaddie is making it is beyond anyone.

Can a regular gps handheld unit be used to map a golf course?

i was considering buying a sky caddie gps, but i was wondering if you can use a regular gps to map a golf course on your own. i've never used a gps so i really don't know anything about them.

Why bother for $150.00 you can get the iGolf Neo.
The website in "source" below rates it above the Skycaddie although this is mainly because of price.
And you can start playing straight away without fussing about mapping. Besides how accurate will your 200 meters be when you are going over undulating ground?
With the iGolf you will have a exceptional GPS and over a hundred bucks change.
But the Skycaddie is also a great GPS.
And both will be able to analayze your game.
Keep that head down and follow through!!!

Which golf GPS unit should I buy and why?

I've heard/read about Sky Caddie, Garmin, iGolf, etc. Please feel free to give me the pros and cons.

Things to consider include: 1) memory (# of courses the unit will hold at one time which affects how often you may want to reload it) 2) construction/durability/display screen size 3)battery type (built in rechargeable vs. regular alkaline or changeable rechargeable) 4)annual fee 5)company support to change or map courses.

I purchased and am highly satisfied with the GolfLogix (Garmin) unit. It holds 10 different courses although a 27 hole course may be broken up into 3 memory items which is true on all units. Courses are mapped very accurately including sand and water distances on most holes. It has a large display and is very durable. It uses regular batteries or rechargeable which are easily changed if you should run low even during a round. You can usually play 3 to 4 rounds on new or charged batteries. Annual fee is only $30 vs. $60 on others. The company is very responsive when requesting a course be changed due to layout or newly mapped if unavailable in their data base (2-4 days). Keep your head down & swing hard in case you hit it!
