If I have blackberry pearl, can I install Tom Tom GPS palm version and combin with Bluetooth reciever to use the GPS for no charge?

doubt it. Palm and BB are on different platforms.

My father-in-law got one for Xmas and I was trying to find a place (other than the Tom Tom website) to get them for his GPS unit. The official website charges for maps (LAME!!!!)

It should have the latest maps on it. Are you looking for POI (points of interest) files? ie. Starbucks, Harley, Target etc.? If so you can do a google search for free POI and there's a ton of them for free, Also you need to search for POI editor because most of these files are .cvs for Garmin and with the free POI editor you can open and then save them in the TomTom format, then copy them to the TomTom and your set. But as for maps so far as I know you can only get them from TomTom.

Which of the folowing units say the name of the street that you are about to turn on, not just "Right turn in 400 feet" The garmin website has this feature listed as "text to speech" but i cant figure out what it is on the tom tom website. The units i'm interested in are the Tom Tom One, GO 300, and GO 700

I need a GPS system for my car and I was wondering how the tom tom was anyone hate it or love it or if there's another GPS system you like I'd love to know about! :)

My hubby and I have a Garmin eTreks Vista HCx. We like it because its easy enough to put in either car. It doesn't give audio directions, but its really good for way-marking. We also have 2 other Garmin GPS systems. They're reasonably priced at the hand-held size, but get super expensive the larger they get.

i dont need bells and whistles like mp3 playing (who doesnt have ipod hook up in their car these days?) just a good voice navigated gps thats easy to use, and preferably comes with the thing to attache it to your window. bigger screen is preferred, and im trying to stay under 200 bucks. thanks!

Either the TomTom One XL or the TomTom XL 330 should work perfectly for you. Both are well under $200 online as well.
