Gps navigation suggestions?

i want to buy a gps for my car but i really know nothing about what system is best i would apriciate any suggestions/info that you have i need one with pretty detaled maps and would prefer a large touchscreen and i dont have a whole lot to spend. thanks

There are many different types of GPS systems. You have to ask yourself if you want one in your car stereo, or do you want one you can take out and use it in anyone's car. I bought a Garmin 260. Its portable and I can take it anywhere. It's very detailed and even talks. There are many options to choose from on GPS units. Seeing how you do not want to spend alot, check out your local WalMart. They have about the best deals. Prices can start at $95 and go upwards.

I bought mine there =]

Hope this helped you out.

Looking for a very specific car audio system?

Here are the features I'm looking for:

GPS/Navigation
CD
DVD
MP3 (iPod connection)
Sirius

What brand should I get and do you recommend a touchscreen?

Also, I'm looking for a nice speaker system. I don't want to bump my bass all across town or shatter other people's windows. Just some nice speakers that'll let me listen to my music semi-loud without blowing out within the first 5 minutes. I don't need them to be flashy with blue lights or anything, just discreet and reliable.
Oh, the car is a 2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R

pioneer dvd/navi units are very reliable as well as good quality. the only other unit i would reccomend is alpine, but i know they charge extra for the navi units and software, making them more expensive than pioneer. really if you are wishing to be inexpensive and fair quality, you might choose to go all pioneer, but that is your choice. i run a pioneer dvd touchscreen, alpine eq, alpine front and rears, alpine amp on the front and rears, then diamond audio subs and amp and 3.4 farads worth of caps. all was purchased for under $1000
sound is great, and the only thing that stands out is the alpine eq under the dvd. it is really up to you and your price range and taste. stay away from jensen, sony, dual, boss, audiobahn and the like

GPS Navigations Systems?

Ok I need some help. I want to get a GPS Navigation system put into my car.I really want to get a GPS put into my car. But I've been debating on which one is the best....In Dash?....Portable?....Laptop? Right now I have the Laptop GPS, and of course it is not touchscreen and you have to carry around this laptop (which is really nice to have because I didn't have one before. :) But lets say you go "Off Route"...the in dash and portable will recaculate and reroute you to tell you where to go, but the laptop does not, you have to do it manually. The laptop also has more options that you can put the time in and it will tell you the time that you get there. Does the Portable and In Dash also do that? At least with these, you don't have to use Mapquest anymore.
Which is the best to get, does anyone know. Just need some help in which is best.
I guess I thought they all had voice guidance because even my laptop Microsoft Streets and Roads GPS has voice prompts.

The newer dash GPS systems will do all that and more (and be legal to use on the road).

Tom Tom are releasing the 910 shortly - thats what I am holding out for.

Go to www.ciao.co.uk and check out the GPS reviews - very comprehensive
