I want to put a touchscreen in my old mercedes because every speaker is blown and I'm gonna be in there anyways. I don't want to be installing a whole computer system though. I just want something that would have gps, control over a cd changer, be able to tune into AM/FM radio, and use a aux jack for my ipod. Basically everything that you would get in the newer luxurary cars. I don't want to install a PC but if thats gonna be my only option I guess I will.
Yea I knew thats about how much they cost you get them already installed on newer luxury cars. I guess I'll just to have to install my own computer system.

there are alot of compies that make what your looking for. some high quality brands are kenwood, pioneer, alpine and eclipse. you cant go wrong with any of those. only downside is they will all cost close to a $1000 if not a little less or a little over..these all have ipod control, radio, gps and you would be able to control your cd changer.

The Droid by Verizon is what I am looking for but I do not want to pay expensive phone bills. I want to be able to have in the cache the satellite images from Google Maps and the information, pretty much like what you get in a computer. Then I want to navigate the roads like when you use a car GPS, but I am not going to do it just in USA, so I want the ability to upload maps (there are a lot of free stuff online). It need to be waterproof for my hiking trips. Ideas?

I would go to a local car audio store. They would have everything you want

The cost at first will seem expensive especially with install BUT it is worth it. I did a system my self and i am still having problems with it. Also if they install it and something goes wrong u can go back and get it fixed for free.

If your looking for a cheaper system i would go shop elsewhere and bring it back to get it professionally installed.
