usb gps

Qtek 9100 PDA, Pharos USB GPS receiver (from Microsoft Streets and Trips)
What equipment is available to utilise the receiver as a bluetooth GPS receiver.
Recommend a good US/ Europe mapping program

with no model number for the pharos it is hard to tell.
the ones i found after a quick 'google' did not have bluetooth.
the qtek has a mini usb connector while the reciever seems to come with full size usb connector.
therefore, either purchase a new bluetooth reciever or a standard to mini usb adapter.
there is a nation of mapping software that will work with windows pocket pc OS, some cheaper than others but i would think tom tom is one of the most popular.

Installing streets and trips on a new computer...I removed the cd rom without configuring my GPS receiver. Now Windows fails to recognize it when I plug it in...Previously it would sound-off and prompt me to install new hardware. After going through that process once unsuccessfully, i did not realize the do-not-promt-me-again box was checked. How do i make it prompt me again????

go to device manager (right click the MY COMPUTER icon and click properties and click on the hardware tab then click the device manager button) and find the gps reciever in the list...it will have a yellow "!" next to it...double click it and go from there...

Hi,
I want to record the location co-ordinates wherever I take a picture. I have a GPS receiver (Earthmate), similar to the one which comes with MS Streets& Trips. I don't want to use a laptop. Are there any devices out there which can be connected to this receiver and log the coordinates?

I have a magellan and it gives you the coordinates of where you are standing. Just input locate and it does it for you. It will record it in favorite locations. I'm not sure you can download it but you can input it manualy.

When I got a new computer it did not have a parallel port for my GPS. I got an adapter cable to hook it up to one of the USB ports. But now my computer will not recognize that my GPS is hooked up to it.

Have you plugged it in and then did a search for new hardware?

Go to Control Panel, seledt Add New Hardware and try searching. If your unit came with software have it ready to install.
