vehicle gps tracking

I am refering to a tracking device hidden under your car's dash that allows you to see where the car is at all times, NOT a navigation system. Would you use it to track a cheating spouse, or your kids, for theft recovery, or is there another reason?
Wow! I didn't expect so many replies so quickly! I am a distributor for one, and I was curious to see what the public vote would be.

I'd use it to track my horse.

I have these GPS tracking units from several dozen of my business vehicles (commercial service fleet), but have gone out of that business now - can I re-sell these and if so, what is the best way to quickly sell them?

Iv been searching online but there all so very expensive! Do you know of any good websites? I want to keep an eye on my daughter I know shes up to something (nogood) and Im very worried about her. I want to know where she is at all times only I don't want her to suspect anything. Any suggestions?

I know of two options for you. There is a company called Trackstick. They have a few options that are relatively inexpensive. The only issue with them is that you have to wait for the car to get back in order to get the unit off and then download the data. You can also use a product from Skypatrol that gives you real time data via the internet. It does require a monthly fee, but it is pretty inexpensive for the service. Good luck.

i know BT do a one too, but are they any more?

reason being i'm wanting a job fitting them so i'd like to apply to them all, although it doesn't seem to me like BT have any of offer at that minute.

In order to gain piece of mind in the event my car is stolen (again), I am seriously considering this investment.

1) Anyone made this investment? If so, how much did you spend and have you ever had to use it?

2) Recommended products?(e.g.LoJack,MircoTRAKgps)

These systems are amazingly effective, LoJack is the only one I am familiar with. Theives can disable the system IF they know the car is equipped with it and where it is located (usuall buried behing the dash assy). Of course, only a really dumb theif would steal a car equipped with this device, but, alas, most crooks are pretty dumb. Unsure of the cost of the device and service but you should be able to transfer it to another vehicle later.
Frankly, the most effective anti-theift system we've seen in the industry is the encoded keys that disable the vehicle when tampered with or attempted to be driven without the proper key. The only way a typical dirtbag will get your ride then is with a tow truck.
