True true, i left my brother playing it and went to bed the first night i got it, and he didn't tell me the little things like that, when i worked it out it saved a lot of time, but cost a bit of money, romans cab service is free, but you gotta wait for it to rock up, also the subway/rail service can be used, if you can work out which train to take.
But yeah the question has already been answered, it is a green waypoint and line.

The new york city taxi law says that all yellow cabs must have a GPS installed in the cab, what I want to know is that where the information from the fares and such goes to, for example the IRS, or TLC?
most nyc taxis use verifone.
"VTS will utilize the VeriFone MX870 connected to TaxiTronic's TX-36 network controller, which will communicate via cellular wireless to servers run by fleet operators and municipal taxi authorities. Incorporating GPS, the fleet automation system will enable operators and municipal managers to monitor flow control to ensure that taxis are dispatched to areas where they are most needed. VTS will also provide passenger compartment payment systems so fares can be paid without having to hand over credit or debit cards. Additionally, VTS solutions will be able to accommodate contactless payment cards, signature capture and metropolitan transit system smart card-based fares."

"VeriFone Holdings Inc. has signed an agreement with the Committee for Taxi Safety, the largest licensed leasing association in New York City with 3,000 member taxis, for its integrated payment solutions. The company also announced that over 5,000 New York City taxis are signed or committed to comprehensive multi-year agreements for in-taxi acceptance of credit cards.
Last month, VeriFone Transportation Systems, implemented by VeriFone's US-based taxi business, had become the first authorized by the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) for the city's more than 13,000 taxis. "

My husband and I would like to get a GPS system in order to find our way around unfamiliar places and search for restaurants and businesses. For beginners who really just need an electronic yellow pages and simple maps on-screen, what should we look for and how much should it cost? It doesn't necessarily have to be dirt cheap, but we'd also like it not to cost $700 dollars.
Probably the best GPS system for you would be one that meet your needs.
You must first understand what you would like as features such as text to speech, where the unit will pronounce the street names when offering audio directions.
You may wish to have a larger display such as 4.3" over a 3.5" smaller display. You may also wish to have the unit to include traffic information, you would want to purchase a unit that have tons of points of interest and preferably to have full North America coverage
The best unit currently would be
#1] Garmin 760 for best overall value and features
#2] Magellan Maestro 4250 with Voice command feature
#3] TomTom 930 with Map share and voice command features along with NA and EU maps
All these units price range from $349 to $449 which is an excellent buy! They all have larger 4.3" display, TTS, tons of POI and Traffic option which is pretty much what most people are looking for in a great GPS unit!
Costco is a great place to buy GPS unit if you don't care about selection and availability, most of the time Costco will have one model for a few weeks than it will no longer be available, and there is no one there to answer any questions you may have with the GPS products they represent.
Consider buying from a local merchant that have both the knowledge and inventory to support you after the sale.
If you are not sure which is the best unit for you, you can rent these units for testing purposes from GPS4Rent http://www.gps4rent.com/ or you can buy one from Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc. http://www.autonav2000.com/

A Yellow Springs Blog: Travels with Honey: More on GPS navigation
It seems that Honey is full of surprises. Honey is now the nickname I have applied to my new Garmin nuvi 255W GPS navigator. Saturday evening, we were headed to a wedding in Loveland, Ohio. I had a fair idea where that might be based on the directions that came with the wedding invitation. But, I thought, this could be an opportunity to give Honey her toughest test yet. I won't say she failed. I don't know how to describe what she did. There are two ways to get to Loveland, which is north east of Cincinnati just off I-275. The most direct route is probably to go south on Rte. 42 from Xenia and pick up I-71 near Lebanon. A reasonable alternative is to go south on I-675/I-75. Both will get you down to I-275. However, I-71 joins it a few miles closer to the exit for Loveland. The problem with that route is that some of it is on what can best be described as back roads. Just like a man, as Amy would say, I opted for I-675 without even considering what Honey might have in mind for me. Until this point, I had thought she wanted to go down 42 and 71. But that business about Hilltop Road threw me. I began to realize that she had never intended to go down 42. It seemed like, all along, her original plan had been to take me on Hilltop, perhaps to US 35 and then West to 675. I know the route, because that's the way I go to Tractor Supply to buy chicken feed. If you know Hilltop Road, you know it's one of the worst winding roads around here. This past spring a kid driving home from the Career Center was killed when he failed to negotiate one of its 90 degree bends. It hardly seems like a good way to start out and hour-long drive. I couldn't imagine what else Honey had in mind. Was there another back road after Hilltop, or was it to be US 35 west? Or maybe she was trying to do me in after our first date, when I refused to make a u-turn and drive her back to Sam's Club. This was getting downright Hitchcockian. Honey isn't always right. When we got to Xenia where 42 dumps into S. Church Street, she was okay. But at the intersection with Main St., she directed us to turn right, then left on N. Detroit. Normally, I would continue on Church, which curves to the right and intersects with N. Detroit. It seems faster as there are less turns and less lights.
