How do I change my xbox 360 settings to pal 60 from pal 50?
Goodbye Rogers, Hello HDOTA

Hello. I need to change my xbox 360 to PAL 60 from PAL 50 to be able to play feeding frenzy. And I have tried going to console settings - display - and there is no option to change the pal settings here. I have a flatscreen high definition television and I connect my xbox with one cable only for hdmi or something. Can anyone please help me?

You were almost there. There isn't a dedicated setting for PAL 60 and PAL 50. Just change the resolution once. And then back to your desired resolution.
Then the Xbox will show you a picture in PAL 60 and PAL 50. Say yes both times, if the image showed correctly.

Now you have PAL 60 activated.

I'm thinking of buying a plasma tv, are they worth it over lcd tvs?

I am looking at buying a SANYO DP50747 50" Plasma High Definition television, but I just talked to a direct tv installer and he said after a few years you have to get the plasma in the tv recharged or refilled or something like that and it would cost as much as buying a new tv, is this true and is this a good tv for a price of 900 dollars? Or should I just look at lcd tvs instead?

This is a MYTH! Plasmas do not have to be recharged. Whether you should go plasma or LCD is a complicated question-see link
Sanyo is not a good TV.

High Definition Televisions?

I am looking for a cheaper HD-TV, but I want it to be a big screen(of course). I was thinking about a DLP tv because they seem to be nice enough and are only around 1,000 dollars for 50-60 inches. I heard that if you sit at the side of the tv you cant see the picture very well. What do you think of DLP tvs, or LCD'S?

Projectors and LCD sets have a problem with off-angle viewing, but the new LCD sets are quite good. The projectors have improved as well. DLP sets are lower in cost for large sizes, but are bigger and heavier. Personally, I prefer LCD to any projector.

High Definition Availability?

I just recently upgraded to a 50" hp plasma television, obviously I've turned into a major couch potato over the last week. I have also upgraded my DirecTV to the hi-def service. My only gripe is that my local channels are not available in hi-def. I live in Greenville, SC and I know it is, by no means, the largest television market in the nation, but with over 3 million people in the market, it also isn't the smallest. I'm sure I'm not the only person set up for hi-def service, so my question is how can I find if/when my local channels will offer high definition service and who can I contact to start putting a little pressure on the local networks to speed up the process of getting it started.

I checked both the DirecTv website and Googled. Direct shows no upcoming plans, as you probably know. Dish shows they have Greenville in a future plan, but how future is not indicated.

If you can/want to put up a good quality aerial (now referred to as "off-air" antennas) you can receive your locals in HD if your broadcast area has switched over to HD. The individual websites for your ABC, etc., will tell you. Cheaper antennas tend to allow too much bleedover interferrence so that the digital signal doesn't have a chance to come thru properly. Channel Master Crossfire brand is one good example of a decent antenna.

Not sure who you contact to speed up the process. Sorry. Its an expensive and time consuming one with the stations getting the permission, the bandwidth, and all that.

Also keep in mind that your plasma will demand more power and a strong signal if you end up using an outdoor aerial for off-air.

Either 1080i or 1080p. You don't give enough information to narrow it down further than that.

When used in public areas, these HDTVs can be easily programmed by the installer to have the TV turn on at a specified channel/volume level, set the minimum/maximum volume, lock out the control panel/remote, set the aspect ratio, and return to a factory reset. By using power management, these displays can be programmed to turn off if there has been no activity (remote or control panel buttons) for a preset time (1-7) hours.
