It varies, but it will tell you in the specs.
+++ pro + good picture + nice RF remote but it does look cheap --- con - extremely buggy software bundle my little review of the ati tv tuner card ...
OK, here is the question.
I am purchasing an Alienware Aurora in the next couple of weeks.
I then plan on purchasing an HDTV LCD, to watch TV and to use as a monitor.
It's going to be around 22".
The question is, will the computer be able to output a high enough resolution, (through an HDMI to HDMI Cable) so it doesn't look all pixelated.
It needs to look real sharp for FPS Games and other 3D games.
The default graphics card is an NVIDIA 9800.
Please help me and maybe suggest a good cheap 22" HDTV LCD that will suit my needs.
Thanks.
~Bernie
Let me first tell you this: HDTVs are the worst possible solution for gaming. A 22" TV would have pixels that are much too big for gaming and too small a size for comfortable TV viewing.
You can install an extra TV tuner card inside the PC and watch TV with it on a regular PC monitor.

I was wondering if there is any way I can send an output signal from my HDTV to my PC, record it, and play it back on my TV. Alternatively I could buy a Hard Drive Recorder, but I figure if I already have a computer with a hard drive I could just use that. I know I can record HDTV on the PC using a TV tuner card, but it seems unnecessary seeing as the HDTV is already generating the signal and doing all the dirty work that the card would do. I just don't know how to get the signal from the HDTV to the PC so I can record it with a recording program. I figure you should be able to have the HDTV as an input to the PC just like you can input and record off of a video camera.
If anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful.
Thanks
There are TVs that have a TV output, but even then it is only standard def. So, if you want to record HD TV on your PC, you do need a TV tuner.

Would http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specp age.html?XFX-4850 work?
or http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specp age.html?NOV-2501# is that better?
If you want to put a GTS250 or an HD4850 into that HP machine, you will have to change the power supply too. Both of those cards draw well over 100 watts of electrical power.
If you want to use the stock PSU that came with your HP, you should get a card that draws under 75 watts of electrical power and do not need the additional 6-pin power connector. The highest cards you can get under 75 watts would be the GeForce 9500GT or the ATI Radeon HD4670.
Hope this helps.

I want to go from a normal monitor plug on the back of my computer to the HDMI input of the tv if possible.
my computer video is on the motherboard (Abit NF7-M socket A mobo)
Is there a cable that will do that?
Monitor out to HDMI in.
would it be better to get a video card with s-video out to the s-video in on the tv set?
Thanx
Well, HDMI to VGA is possible, but there is no VGA to HDMI. You should get a Video card that has HDMI out. I've had very bad experiences with S-video out from computers... lol

No. Stereo is two channels, left and right. You only have one stereo out, by what you said. Even if you have ten stereo outputs, it would still only give you two channels. You need to have an optical or digital audio output somewhere is the computer is capable of 5.1 channel. I am going to go out on a limb and say that the card may be completely able to handle 5.1, but it is not used on your computer as an output. Check for a yellow/gold colored audio out or a toslink(black, small, square with a flip typr door) connection. If so, and you open the door, you should see a red light flashing when some type of sound is going on.
