High Definition Television Work

Check whether both countries use the same system (PAL or NTSC).
If not, buying a new tuner and connecting it to the video input should work.

It will still work even if your television is not HD. The box comes with HD and SD television compatible cords. However, if you don't have an HD TV and buy a PS3, you're missing out on some of the true detail that was put into these games, and they won't look quite as amazing as they could. If you don't care about that and are just buying the system for the game titles it offers, then you have nothing to lose. Good Luck!

Hi, I have RCA 27F530T model and it has component cable input but I can not figure out how to get High Definition Xbox 360 on it. I have all the cables plugged into the video 2 ports except for the yellow banded one. It works when the switch isnt on HD, however when I go to display settings and test out different outputs (720, 1080) it doesn't display a picture. I would really appreciate help with this one because its really confusing me.

I use a standard Sky Digibox with my LG 42PX5D HD Plasma. The picture is great, as the TV itself up-scales the Picture. Its not real High-Definition, but its still better than the picture it gave me on my 28inch CRT that it replaced! Just buy the best scart cable you can afford. I bought a QED "Squart" and the picture did actually improve over the standard "gold plated" one I already owned! It also looks fantastic behind the cabinet (together with the matching QED HDMI from my DVD player).

Bandwith, File size, file conversion, compatability issues, etc. etc. etc. From a television producers standpoint, working with High Definition is NOTHING but a pain in the @ss. It will cause soooooo many unrealized problems it is ridlicious. The price of the conversion alone will begin crippling television stations across America.
The FCC may not, but you go tell that to 99% of GM's in this business.
if you don't think HD is a MAJOR improvement over NTSC standard definition, then you obviously have not seen HD up close on a beautiful 42 inch 1080p television. My concern isn't the quality, its the cost of the quality, particularly the cost on the local markets. Do you realize that EVERYTHING will have to be changed. Commercials, News, Stock Footage, etc etc etc etc etc. Billions are going to be spent.

I don't 'get' HD.
It seems unnecessary; I can't even see that great of a difference in quality.
