Where can I find a good deal on a high definition television ?

What are the pros and cons of HDTV . Are the old TVs going to be obsolete ?

You can find really good deals on walmart.com.
Hdtv's are smaller, have better pictures, and yes eventually the old tv's will be obsolete. Make sure you get one with a high contrast ratio, and a resolution of no less than 720p, and a ntsc/atsc tuner.

What do you think of High Definition TVs? Are they really sharper?

Do you think HD Televisions are really sharper than an older style-Television? I'm not really convinced of that...I think it's just a commeercial slogan, but HD Televisions still need to go through a little bit of improvement in terms of picture quality...Do you share my views?

HDTV's are a scam...i don't think the quality is worth the price...

I'm thinking of buying a plasma tv, are they worth it over lcd tvs?

I am looking at buying a SANYO DP50747 50" Plasma High Definition television, but I just talked to a direct tv installer and he said after a few years you have to get the plasma in the tv recharged or refilled or something like that and it would cost as much as buying a new tv, is this true and is this a good tv for a price of 900 dollars? Or should I just look at lcd tvs instead?

This is a MYTH! Plasmas do not have to be recharged. Whether you should go plasma or LCD is a complicated question-see link
Sanyo is not a good TV.

High Definition Televisions?

I am looking for a cheaper HD-TV, but I want it to be a big screen(of course). I was thinking about a DLP tv because they seem to be nice enough and are only around 1,000 dollars for 50-60 inches. I heard that if you sit at the side of the tv you cant see the picture very well. What do you think of DLP tvs, or LCD'S?

Projectors and LCD sets have a problem with off-angle viewing, but the new LCD sets are quite good. The projectors have improved as well. DLP sets are lower in cost for large sizes, but are bigger and heavier. Personally, I prefer LCD to any projector.

Plasma vs. LCD High Definition Televisions?

Which is better? Which has a longer life expectancy? Which can you see clearly from any position in the room? (Some TVs fade out if you are off to the side, and are only clear if you are more or less directly in front of them.)

LCD is the most practical and will give you an exceptional picture with the right brand. My choice is the Sony Bravia XBR. Life expectancy is similar at around 50,000 hours. Plasma has screen burn-in issues.

Hey guys, I have a Panasonic TC-P42U1 plasma and I was wondering if anyone else that has it could post any successful settings that they have the TV set to for their picture? The website that posts all of the settings for TV for free doesn't have this model on the site. If you want me to buy one of the CD's instead, I am cool with that, but I was gonna see if anyone could help me out before I do that. Thanks!
