Do I need a High Definition TV or special software to play & edit footage from a High Definition Video Camera?
ATL141 University Viral Videos

I'm planning to buy a High Definition Video Camera such as the Sony HDR-SR11 or Panasonic HDC-HS1000.

Do I need a High Definition compatible Television to watch the footage?

Do I need special software to edit the footage on my PC? Any recommendations? I was looking at 'Corel Video Studio'

Your help is appreciated, thank you.

Hard drive based camcorders suffer from well known high altitude and vibration issues (the hard drive heads park to protect the hard drive platters) and have extra steps for archive file production. As well, they can have data recovery issues in the event of catastrophic failure of the camcorder. Flash drive and miniDV tape based camcorders do not share these issues. Suggest dropping HDD (and DVD) based consumer camcorders from your short list.

ALL camcorders can connect to a TV using composite (Yellow-video; Red-right audio; White-left audio) AV connections. This is analog video. An HDTV is not required.

Most consumer hard drive (and flash memory) camcorders that capture high definition video capture to AVCHD format. These are MTS or MT2S file formats. Before you buy the camcorder, verify from the video editing manufacturer that the video editor you plan to use can deal with AVCHD for editing AND can specifically deal with the camcorder you selected.

Can I record HDTV straight from my High Definition Television to my PC?
Broadcast Tunnel

I was wondering if there is any way I can send an output signal from my HDTV to my PC, record it, and play it back on my TV. Alternatively I could buy a Hard Drive Recorder, but I figure if I already have a computer with a hard drive I could just use that. I know I can record HDTV on the PC using a TV tuner card, but it seems unnecessary seeing as the HDTV is already generating the signal and doing all the dirty work that the card would do. I just don't know how to get the signal from the HDTV to the PC so I can record it with a recording program. I figure you should be able to have the HDTV as an input to the PC just like you can input and record off of a video camera.

If anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful.
Thanks

There are TVs that have a TV output, but even then it is only standard def. So, if you want to record HD TV on your PC, you do need a TV tuner.

can you have three video game systems hooked up to a television at once?
VIANEOS CORPORATE IMAGE

Just getting an Xbox 360. I already have my 64 and Wii hooked up. I know it's likely I'll have to disconnect one, but just wondering is there three video game slots when "Video 1" and "Video 2" are taken. The television is a Sylvania high-definition.

Well if your TV has an HDMI port on it you can hook up an HDMI cable to your xbox to the tv and then have all three plugged in that way. There should be RGB(Red Green Blue) ports on the back of the TV also. the Xbox comes with an A/V cord that has a RGB wire on it and then you there should be Red and white ports right under the RGBs where you can plug in those wires for Audio.

Or if all else fails you can go out and buy a switcher and it has about 6 places on it where you can hook up game systems DVD players etc.

Where can I find Go Video brand televisions IN STOCK in a store in Dallas, TX? Their corporate headquarters?
Audio Video

Four years ago, right before I purchased my first liquid crystal display high definition television, I also considered purchasing a Go Video television as a second television to supplement the larger Toshiba that I DID buy. But I could find no information whatsoever on where to contact Go Video in order to find out where they are sold. Some Yahoo searches have yielded some information on where to find them online, but all of these sites say that no stores have any of them in stock. They're a very inexpensive way to get high definition television, and so I would still like to have one as a second HDTV set. Please help.

GO Video is out of business, has been since the late 1990's.

Today they are Dynex and Visio...not the same company, but the same CONCEPT.

Cheap....and will eventually go out of business.

How to get High Definition working with my RCA television set?
TVBLOB interface (alpha, detail)

Hi, I have RCA 27F530T model and it has component cable input but I can not figure out how to get High Definition Xbox 360 on it. I have all the cables plugged into the video 2 ports except for the yellow banded one. It works when the switch isnt on HD, however when I go to display settings and test out different outputs (720, 1080) it doesn't display a picture. I would really appreciate help with this one because its really confusing me.

NOT High Definition set!
Tru-Flat CRT, NTSC Tuner, 16:9 aspect ratio even with component inputs does NOT equal HiDef!
