All I want is the best possible gaming performance from my xbox 360 on my samsung LCD television. Do I need one of those xbox 360 high definition cables. Right now, there are the 3 cables that connect to the TV. They are colours yellow, white, and red, but i noticed the cord also has 3 others. they are red green and blue. Are these high def cables ?? Im new to all this. Please help. I will go buy something if i need to to get the best 360 quality.
You are using the standard definition (TV) part of your cable. The yellow cable is displaying a standard definition composite video signal and the red and white are stereo right and left sound channels.
The other 3 leads provide a component signal (red, green and blue) and this is for HDTV High Definition video signals. You still have to use the red and white cables that you already have plugged in for sound when using HDTV (high definition) or TV (standard defintion) video from your cable.
If you want to simplify things, you could just get an HDMI cable from your Xbox 360 to your Samsung HDTV - but seeing as you already have high definition cables you may as well use those as the quality difference is not noticable (component supplies a high definition signal in analogue and HDMI provides it in digital format - both of which your HDTV will understand).
