The speakers and the DVD player came as one item, they are connected. Movie (DVD player) audio comes through the speakers but when we switch back to the TV the tv audio just comes out of the speakers built into the tv (not very strong!)
The cable (cable tv) from the wall is hooked into the tv and there is no place to hook it into the DVD player, is there a special cord to connect the audio?
You need to connect the tv audio output to the dvd stereo input (sometimes marked aux input or the like) you can use a variety of cables provided the tv and the dvd/stereo have the same type of plugs (red/white rca cables) an optical audio input or something to that effect. The bottom line is the tv output needs to go to the stereo's input, then you would change the stereos input to aux or whatever to hear your tv. 1 more detail, you may need to use the setup on your tv to turn on the "line out" feature in audio setup to send signal to your stereo

and i dont know how to reinstall them
help?
Do Update, or go to your PC manufacturer website, then support, then enter your PC model, and download the sound driver, install it, reboot, enjoy.
I've been thinking about putting together a decent home theater set up. Right now I have one of those pioneer "home theater in a box" set ups. It's OK. But, I want a little better.
I've already upgraded the DVD player to a Blu ray player. I'm probably going to keep the receiver and the sub amp for the new set up.
I want to use some car audio speakers I have laying around, from a previous car audio build, for my home theater. I've got a couple boston acoustics component sets I want to use for the front, center and surround speakers. I was thinking about using 2, 6.5 inch sets for the front, a 5.25 inch set for the surround and a another 5.25 set for the center. I've also got a JL audio 10w1-4 that I want to use for the sub.
I'm pretty sure that it will work well. The wattages will match up pretty well and the enclosures will be built to the t/s parameters of the speakers. I really just want to know if there are any real differences between home and car audio speakers.
i have done this. it would sound better if you make all three front speakers 6.5 because most of your sound in 5.1 comes out of the center Speaker, make sure all the speakers are 2 channels but you can do it like that but it will sound better this way.

I just purchased a brand new eMachines computer from best buy. I got a screen and tower package that also included my speakers, keyboard and mouse. I'm trying to make it use both my speakers but it just won't work because I have
A) The speakers they gave me
and
B) The speakers built in the monitor.
Any way to fix this because I see no point in them selling you a deal with two sets of speakers.
I don't think they worry about two set of speakers. That is not their concern, and now the speakers become your problem. You can use a set of speaker, since using all four of them will not make the sound better unless you have a super powerful sound card and super nice speakers.
I'm using a dual monitor set up for my laptop, and my external monitor has built in speakers. I would like my computer's audio output to come from these speakers instead of the laptop speakers, is there any way to do this? The monitor is a Samsung Touch Of Color and the OS is Windows 7.
Yes, purchase a stereo mini jack male to male cord. It will look like this..

You may already have a cable....or you can buy them cheap at the dollar store. Plug one end into the monitor audio in jack and the other end into your headphone jack on the laptop.

OK, so we finally got the video formatting worked out. It's very informal; Matt sat in the back seat with the Canon XSi camera capturing our back-to-front-and-back-again fading demo by moving the camera's built-in microphone forward and backward along with the fades. We're listening for sonic improvements (detail, tone quality, dimensionality) when we fade to the JL Audio components up front from the stock GM speakers in the back. Check it out and see if you can hear the difference.
