There is no such thing as the best speakers. The first thing you will have to do is figure out how much money you are willing to spend on speakers. Make sure to keep in mind that you will also need a new amp, head unit, and speaker wire if you want to get the full potential out of any set of speakers.
After you have figured out what your potential budget is for speakers then you should go to a store and listen to all the speakers that are in your price range. Every speaker has different strengths and weaknesses that are difficult to describe in words. You just have to listen for yourself and decide what you like best.
Once you have found a set of speakers that you enjoy listening to and are in your price range you will also need all the accompanying gear. You might be able to save money buying the components online. Unless you are extremely skilled at electrical and mechanical work I would personally recommends going to a professional shop to install the new items becuase if you do the installation in a sloppy manner it will be difficult to repair in the future and could even catch fire.
The only general rule that you should know before going to the store to buy the speakers is that component speakers are usually better then coaxial becuase the tweeter is separated from the main speaker. This means that there are more separate components doing separate jobs. Any time there is one item that must do multiple jobs it can not do it at very high efficiency.

What Amber said. Coby is an ultra cheap consumer brand. If you want speakers that allow you to hear a sound, use them. If you want a good sturdy speaker that accurately reproduces music, avoid them like the plague!

Use the link below and look around. I have used BOSE,JVC,and POLK AUDIO in the past as well as PIONEER.They were all excellent. The human ear is a fine tuned instrument and no two people will hear the same thing.Remember you are buying for what the speaker sounds like, ignore the gaudy looking grills and the flashy bling.Buy with your ears!

Anyone who thinks Bose is top of the line or the best has no experience with real audio gear. I have listened to plenty of speakers that can blow them out of the water in terms of sound quality and performance which are also far cheaper. To the average person who has no interest in researching or comparing audio gear, Bose is the king because they spend most of their money on marketing to that demographic. So, if that is your criteria for the best audio company, you have it.
The largest audio company in the world is Harman International which owns JBL, Infinity, Crown, Mark Levinson, Revel, and many more (look up the rest at http://www.harman.com). I don't think they are the best, but many of the companies they own, like Mark Levinson, make some top quality gear that I would be proud to own.
Personally, the best speakers I have heard to date are the Adam Audio Tensor Alphas which cost as much as a top-of-the-line luxury car. They sounded amazing at the CEDIA show this year. Personally, I own a pair of Martin Logan Monolith IIIs which I have actively crossed over, biamped, and driven by a McIntosh amps. If I could afford the Tensor Alphas then I would buy them, but I don't even think my floor could support 342lbs they weigh per speaker.
To answer your question, there is no best speaker company. They all have their differences which some people like and some people don't. I answered this question before (see here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index; _ylt=AtXIsnuzBWfdkFYYS.cdWSTty6IX;_ylv=3 ?qid=20070922072220AAB0d1D&show=7#pr ofile-info-BhUS2en0aa), but it is really a personal choice. I like electrostate speakers by Martin Logan or Final Sound driven by McIntosh, Krell, or Pass Lab amps. Some guys like Wilson Audio speakers matched with Bryston amps. Look up all the names I listed and the ones on the link I gave if you really want to start getting into high end audio. Bose is hifi for people who don't care about or don't know about real sound.

LaCie Sound2 speakers: supersize your PC#39;s audio | Electricpig
There’s also a stereo line input for rigging up other devices, and the speakers can either be powered by USB or by an included external output. The former sounds handy for laptops and netbooks when you’re out and about, while the latter offers superior performance. They can deliver 30W of power at peak output, which isn’t at all bad for a pair of diminutive desktop boxes.
The LaCie Sound2 speakers look the part as well, thanks to some unique styling from industrial designer Neil Poulton. If you like the sound of them (no pun intended), they’re available now from LaCie’s website .
