I'm replacing factory speakers and I was looking for a good deal on some great sounding, crisp, clear speakers for listening to mostly acoustic music (no heavy bass needed). I was thinking Memphis

Bose blows, and thankfully they dont offer a aftermarket speaker.

ok your looking for good sound for listening to a lot of acoustic music. i'm going to have to 2nd the guy that said Boston ACOUSTICS. the name says it all. i own a pair of there z6's and they sound freakin awesome. best car audio sound i've ever heard. there other stuff is really good too. here is a link, with good prices, you can check them out for yourself. there SL line is really good. you might also want to try ebay.

Subwoofers are speakers, just specialized speakers. Subwoofers play only the very low, bass tones. They are also bigger in diameter, 8 inches or greater, to produce the low tones. Most regular car speakers are smaller, 6.5 inches or less, and include a tweeter, a very small speaker designed to reproduce only very high frequency sounds. These speakers can play in a frequency range af about 150 Hertz up to 20,000 Hertz. Subwoofers only work in the ~15 to 150 Hertz range.

My old dell pc speakers don't go very loud before audio quality is lost.

Ebay or Craigslist has many comp speakers for sale. Look on there for a great deal. I also look at the product's manufacturers website and see what they say about the product.

I just purchased a brand new eMachines computer from best buy. I got a screen and tower package that also included my speakers, keyboard and mouse. I'm trying to make it use both my speakers but it just won't work because I have
A) The speakers they gave me
and
B) The speakers built in the monitor.

Any way to fix this because I see no point in them selling you a deal with two sets of speakers.

I don't think they worry about two set of speakers. That is not their concern, and now the speakers become your problem. You can use a set of speaker, since using all four of them will not make the sound better unless you have a super powerful sound card and super nice speakers.
