lately every time i start my computer i get no sound from the internet i have to go into my computers drivers and restart everything to get the sound.. is there a way to permanently set the sound to stay.

Right click on "My Computer", then go to "properties". Go to the hardware tab, then select "device manager". There you can uninstall your audio drivers. After you uninstall them, restart your computer to reinstall them and this is a way of "refreshing" your drivers.

i tried installing realtek audio drivers but no results
media player shows this error :-Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly.

plzz help me out

make sure that your sound card is actually a realtek one and make sure if its HD or AC97 and then download the correct one from realtek.com.tw

I have tried in a number of sites but they all give me a program that doesn't even work.

Give me the model number and make and I'll find them for you, try the manufacturer's homepage. Make sure you follow the instructions properly, also make sure your sound card is compatible.

I had to restore my Acer AST180 computer to factory default and now I have no sound from my speakers. I can hear sound from the headphone connection. I know that I need a driver in my system for this. I am new at all new this. Can anyone help me? I have not been able to get help from Acer so far. Thank you

So you're saying no sound comes from the speakers, but if you plug headphones into the front of the speakers, you do get sound?

If that's the case, then it sounds like there's a simple volume setting affecting it, perhaps even the volume knob on the speakers (if there is one). Also, check and make sure the speakers' power block is plugged in.
