Audio Speakers Repair

The cabs are fine, the Mid and high drivers are in great shape, but the woofers are blown and the cones are beyond repair. I can not find anyplace online that sells replacement parts for this particular model, and I can't find anyplace nearby in Indiana that does loudspeaker repair. If you can find out anything about this unit, or replacement woofers, may you please let me know? thank you!

What you are looking for is a 12" woofer driver. You don't need a manufacturer's replacement--you only need to find one that matches the impedance and power capacity of your old driver (or, if you don't know that, look at the amp specs for the impedance and peak power output capability of the amp). You will have to get into the cabinet to make the replacement, and almost all 12" speakers will fit, but you may have to drill new mounting holes if it is not an exact replacement.

It is important to use the same speaker impedance if the speaker has a passive crossover for the woofer.

There are two basic types of crossover networks: Passive and Active.
Passive types are composed of Inductors and Capacitors.
Active type have opamps, capacitors and resistors, composing active filters.
Both types can be 6db/octave, 12dB/octave or 18dB/octave.
The active types are generally use in bi-amping or tri-amping applications.
To test either type you'll need an audio generator and an audio voltmeter. An oscilloscope would help and it could replace the voltmeter if it has calibrated inputs.
Cross-over networks remove high frequencies from going to the woofer and low frequencies from going to the tweeters. In the case of passive x-overs, the inductor is connected in series with the woofer and the capacitor in series with the tweeter. Their values are calculated given a x-over frequency. XL=2*PI*f*L and XC=1/(2*PI*f*C). XL should be equal to XC, so 2*PI*f*L=1/(2*PI*f*C). L is in Henrys, C in Farads and f in Hertz.

After replacing the mouse my PC lost ALL audio functions- the speaker system is functioning 100% but nothing produces sound. I've used the entire Windows Sound/Hardware Troubleshooter tutorials as well as System Restore but cannot restore audio functions.

Try reinstalling your sound card drivers/software

the sound is not coming althou the speakers r properly connected and working.

(1) your Audio driver may be corrupt, so you should reinstall the driver. after that you can hear.
(2) check your sound setting my be that will be mute.
(3) System restore
(4) In last you should check speaker with other system.

my PC just got repaired and my speakers dont produce no sound, how do i know if i have drivers to work them

Open the Control Panel, click on the system icon.
Select Hardwares and then choose Device Manager.

All device drivers will be listed.
A driver with a yellow question mark means that the driver is intalled but not working properly.
