Auto Audio Speakers

First, component speakers are way better than coaxial. As far which brand is better depends on who you ask. For me the best are Alpine SPX-17Pro. These are best speakers. I you want to go crazy and buy the most expensive speaker out there they go by the brand Focal, which can cost thousands of dollars. I would stick with alpine, they make good speakers. Check the site below and compare prices, and reviews. I personally own Alpine SPX17pro speakers and they sound amazing.

computer & auto audio system both on a boat

If you head unit has an aux in, then use that, it will provide the best sound with the least equipment, otherwise use an FM transmitter, since the system is on a boat, as a last resort you could use cassette adapter (no alternator). Trust me, you don't want to use one of those in a car. Or if you absolutely must, you could hook up your (laptop?) sound output to the amp (if there is one) if not, then you'll need a powered sound card, try an SB16 if you can, they have some pretty serious amps, but the audio isn't that great. Best bet is Aux, if there is none, then FM transmitter.

Radio works... it will make a speaker play wired directly, but when I connect thru the harness no sound. I know all the connections are correct. The harness had a hard time plugging in but that is solved... I'm afraid to test the extra wire to ground because it could be a hot wire?? Don't want to blow the stereo in my attempt.
There are 2 harnesses. one has constant, switched, ground, amp remote lead, and extra all black wire (harness doesn't supply a contact in the housing.)
Second harness connects speaker wire only.
Anyone had this experience before?

its a ground wire,,the amp has to have a body ground on it,,so it will work,,it wont ground through the harness,,if your unsure about the wire,,take a 12 volt test light and see if it has any power at all on it before you hook it up,,good luck with it.

How do I remove Realtek HD Audio Manager from my computer? It serves no purpose! I used old logitech speakers instead of buying new ones with my new computer.

The reason I don't want it is it keep automatically adjusting my microphone volume until no one can hear it. How do I stop it auto leveling my microphone or how do I get rid of it?

Go to Device Manager, highlight Realtek, right click and choose disable

You can always use it as a back up if the other one fails :)

I know nothing about amplifiers and all that stuff. so besides the speakers and base what else would i need to have it all installed in my truck? I want to buy all the parts then have someone in a auto shop install them for me.

ok, cruthfield is good. just click on dress up my car. it will ask for car info, like yr,make,model. once you get the results write the speaker sizes down on paper along with the head unit "radio" size, and for the bass in your trunk you can go with 10'' or 12'' . best way to save most of your trunk space, is buy buying free air subwoofers. The one's with a hole in the back where the magnet is.When buying your amplifier and subwoofers make sure the RMS watts are the same.
Best place to look for what your wanting is Ebay. You'll find all of the brands there. Not like the store's down the street. They only carry what they want not what you want. Maybe 2 or 3 brands and that's it. That's what Ebay's for. Shop for what you want. Simply put, you get more for your money alot more. As for instalations go to a custom sterio shop. Take someone with you who knows anything about this. Don't forget to get a car alarm to keep unwanted people out. You'll find one at Ebay aswell.
