What is best budget / moderatly priced speakers to listen to classical music.?

I find most popular speakers to not accurate in terms of sound reproduction -- e.g. too boomy or too tinny. Any good audiophile quailty speakers you can recommend?

Consider studio reference monitors, these speakers are used in recording studios to accurately reproduce sound with special attention to nuances and frequency response.

There are numerous 'audiophile' speakers out there but for the money studio monitors are practical, economical and just as good or better then expensive speakers

Does anyone know if there are a particular type/make of speakers that are best for playing Classical Music?

Bose speakers are amazing. You can almost hear the fingers moving on the violins.

best computer speaker to listen to classical music and opera? Bose? 5.1 is not good for listening such muscic?

When people comment on the functionality of a speaker, they used the term "music" in Amazon.com. I am interested in Bose 2.1 or 5.1. I will mainly use the speaker for listening to piano solo, orchestra music or arias from Pandora.com. Any suggestion? Quality goes before $$$.

While the Bose stuff sounds good at first it does get very tiring to listen to. Then again you're listening through a computer, so it's not like using a McIintosh Amplifier and Klipsch La Scala II or Heresy III speakers is going to do you any good. (or any other Reference standard equipment.)

Transit workers are installing speakers this week to pump classical music from Seattle's KING-FM into the Tacoma Mall Transit Center. The tactic is designed to disperse young criminals who make drug deals at the bus stop or use public transportation to circulate between the mall and other trouble-prone places.
Any particular SONG?

  • Audiophile question, What do you listen to your music on ...

I feed my Marantz CD input through a dedicated Heed headphone amplifier to my Beyerdynamic DT880 phones (I rarely get the freedom to play it at decent volume through amp/external Mordaunt-Short speakers ... family commitments) - or from PC in lossless data format through a wireless Squeezebox device then the Heed/Beyers - it's a great sound, but I'm looking to improve it with a Cambridge Audio DACMagic which should improve both sources. Its good to know you're willing to spend time for your purchase. The best scenario for you is, if your dealer will allow, test the equipment (one at a time) you want to buy using your own existing rig and room. Try all the types of music you enjoy listening.
