I just want to know what can i buy, so it would be an ideal choice for music (especially at low level), but still good enough for playing the guitar at.
Or maybe, what is the difference between a good speaker for music and one for guitar?
I have found bose 201 v, but i don't really know what details should i care about..
P.S: My budget is under 260$
A home stereo speaker would end up with fried midranges and tweeters if used for rock guitar, but the type of components used in a guitar or night club speaker would have a better low end, and mid to high end clarity at low volumes for your stereo music. On your budget you could replace the old components in "thrown away" speaker cabinets with pro grade components. Google search "Eminence speakers" to find any size guitar speakers, then add a horn midrange tweeter for the best high end clarity. Piezo electric horns sound great and are almost unblowable, and simplify the crossover network.

I'm currently looking for a replacement for my motorola e398. E398 got amazing speakers w/ great bass punch, so I'm particularly interested in ones with great sounding speakers and music player-headset. I tried Sony Ericsson w550i/600i before and found the speakers lacking bass punch and annoyingly loud at times.
I'm currently trying to make up my mind between:
SE w900i - w850i - w880i - w810i
Samsung d900 (ultra 12.9 in US)
Motorola E2 - e6
I'm definitely not a nokia fan but I heard the n91 and 5300 got great speakers, so I might consider it too.
Btw I'm planning to switch to Cingular, heard they don't allow unlocked cell users to have access to many of their services, is it true?
Price isnt a big deal, as I always use unlocked phones anyways. Any suggestions, even if the model you recommend isnt on my list, would be really appreciated. Thanks
Sony Ericsson's Walkman line of phones are great mobile phone/music player combo. But most of them only have mono speakers; better buy those speakers from the manufacurer themselves for better sound output. I don't really recommend those Moto phones w/ iTunes, they're hard to navigate and not the most user friendly phones out there.

I am planning to buy a pair of stereo speakers for listening to music.
I would like to know which speaker is better for Acoustic and Alternative rock music, Floor-standing or bookshelf speakers with sub-woofer? I also need a good amplifier to power them, model and brand. Although musical taste is highly subjective, I would like to know a general consensus.
Bose (except for the 901) are overpriced, over hyped, cheaply manufactured......etc
Best Buy and Circuit City do not sell the "best speakers for music listening". They sell everything from junk to the nicest gear the average Joe is willing to spend on electronics. If you are serious about sound you are going to drop some serious cash in high-end shops and you're not going to buy what some yahoo on the intardnet tells you he thinks is the best. You're going to audition a lot of speakers and go with what your ears tell you is best.
Another geft for mny husbend need help finding really load spaekers for listening to music on a budget price ( about $50) any suggestions?

Which speakers will be best suited for Denon 1910 AVR - TechEnclave
If you would like to add a subwoofer to the setup, you could drop down to the Usher S-520 (~25K) and plonk in a nice subwoofer for the balance. Later the S-520s can move to the surround channel duty if you upgrade, or can remain in place if you just add some cheaper surrounds. The S-520s are a killer deal in India, internationally they are similarly priced to the B&W 685 but in India they sell at ~ half the price. And they are truly awesome speakers, but do need a subwoofer if you like to play loud and like a lot of bass in your music. These are from a list of speakers I have heard in your budget range. There are obviously more - but I would urge you to drop the Wharfies. They are good speakers...
