Boat Stereo Speakers

I will spend up to or over $100 for speakers. I heard this ski boat today and it had amazing speakers. I want really good ones. How much do you think the boats speakers cost? Also I need a really good CD player. Will a crappy player make great speakers sound bad? I also want a pretty good woofer in them

here is a search for a marine amplifier and mb quart makes good speakers, as far as a deck most major brands like sony, Pioneer or alpine would be good just spend over 120.00.
a marine amp would not be necessary if you could mount it in a dry location, and all speakers or woofer should be marine or not paper cone.

I'd prefer not to drill big holes in the boat for the stereo and speakers. What have others done? I was thinking about some type of bracket under the dash, but not sure where to put the speakers. Its a 17' bowrider

For the speakers you will need to secure them, surface mount will only require small screw holes that can be easily filled if removed.

Should I use the front left and right and what do I do with the rear l and r wires just cap them off ?

any front or rear there is no difference they comes from the same channel

I have a good sized boat and have a stereo in the main cabin but would like to have extension speakers in the pilothouse. Wiring this kind of thing is very expensive on a boat. Is there such a thing as wireless speakers that might work? I only need small speakers and they dont have to be high power.

I haven't seen any wireless speaker sets themselves, but there are wireless Audio/Video sender units. This link is just one source. The prices can range from $50 to over $1000. Just google "wireless audio" and you'll be able to find something that will help. Here is an example page

I tested to see if there was power going to the speaker and it seems that there is no power to the speakers. The stereo has power and seems to play cd's and everything works fine. I just bought this marine stereo and it worked when I tested it yesterday.

Please help.

The only thing I could tell you is test the speaker wires that come out of the stereo. If there good just run new speaker wires.
