How do i get music coming from my computer monitor (monitor stereo speakers built in) and not my headphones?
Ive tried fiddling about with the sound and audio devices area to no anvil so I set the options back to where they where before.

there should be a jack on our monitor, it will look like a headphone jack, u plug in a 1/8 cable from there to your coumpter, if it does not have that jack then it does not have speakrs

I'm building my own stereo speakers.Do I need to seal the tweeters to the cab.like the woofers?

Using 3/4" MDF board and the tweeters have enclosed backs.Using a gasket like material to seal the woofers to the cab.

I have to admit, speaker building is fun and can be quite rewarding when the system turns out the way you want. However, to accomplish this there are a lot of things to consider before building a pair of speakers. It's not just building a cabinet, putting in a woofer, a tweeter and a crossover.

Before you begin your project, I would recommend getting a speaker building guidebook to get it done right the first time -you'll be glad you did.

If you don't want to buy a how-to book, you should be able to find one at your local library. I have provided you with a link to a webpage that offer some basic instructions on building your own speakers along with another link to a speaker building publication...

Happy building!

I am looking to buy Apple's Imac 20". It says it comes with built in stereo speakers?

Is this enough sound volume and quality to listen to some music in my living room? Thanks.

Do not expect HiFi sound coming out of a laptop my friend.
You can always attach an external set of speakers tho.

Can indoor stereo speakers be safely used outdoors?

Anybody have any ideas/ experience with building/ buying protective cases that would enable INDOOR stereo speakers to be used OUTDOORS? We live in Southern California, so the weather is pretty mild.

Indoor speakers are not made of water/high humidity resistant materials. If you love the sound quality of your current indoor speakers, you should invest in a pair designed for outdoor use. There a models that can be had for a reasonable price..:-)=

If i were 2 buy speakers, wires & stereo reciever from the states & bring it to canada, what taxes would i owe

bose speaker system, monster cables, and stereo reciever built buy harmon/kardon, what kind of taxes and duty would i owe at the border.

YOU call Canadian customs and they will give you up to date, accurate information. Much better info than you will probably get here.
By the way, Monster cables and Bose are both a rip off - over priced and over advertised. For cables, look at MyCableMart.com, MonoPrice.com, and BlueJeansCables.com.

  • Manhattan, NY - Forgotten Stereo Speakers Cause Bus Terminal Turmoil

Manhattan, NY - The south wing of the Port Authority Bus Terminal, the nation’s largest and busiest bus depot, was evacuated today after a suspicious package was found near the subway platforms that serve the A, C and E subway lines, the authorities said.

The building was reopened when the the package was determined to be “a couple of stereo speakers bundled together,” said John Kelly, a spokesman for the Port Authority. The speakers appeared to have been forgotten by a traveler.

The closing of part of the building caused a disruption for commuters in Midtown Manhattan’s morning rush. Arriving buses were allowed into the terminal’s south wing, though passengers getting off those buses were diverted toward the north wing of the terminal to exit on the street.
