Car Stereo Speakers Boxes

I have two house speakers and I was wondering if they would work as car stereo speakers if so what would be the best way to go about doing this like making a box or something

most home speakers are 8 ohm which on a 4 ohm amp would get little power, also speakers for the home are designed for a large are vs. a small area for a car.
it will work but putting too much effort into this project is not worth it.

How to build a speaker/subwoofer box.

I have a 2006 Honda Civic EX and just need my speaker box installed in the evening or on the weekend as soon as possible so I have my tunes! I try to get into like a Best Buy, but they close at 5PM, and all the local places seem to close by 6PM and are totally booked on the weekends, and who wants to spend all weekend waiting for your car to have a simple box installed. I'd do it myself but i just had operation on my back, i'm a disabled veteran just got home from being deployed and want to get my tunes up and running, willing to pay a good cash payment to someone to help me get my box installed. It doesn't have to be perfect but i want the "funk in my trunk" type of thing. The box is built already and the amp is attached to the box-could just hook it up to the rear factory sub and rear left and rights, as those sound horrible so there is no need for them. I also have a couple other speaker boxes and another amp we could use if needed. i'm not picky just want my tunes.

Got any friends still in the military? If so, take your car down to Camp Pendleton, where they have a window tinting/car audio installation place on base. Yes, they work on weekends. Very reasonable prices, too. Had several of my cars worked on there.

Otherwise, just call one of the places around you, and set up an appointment. Most places will do that, especially if they're as busy as you say.

I am hate apple love my zune. there is hardly any third party support, unlike the i-crap thingy. no speaker boom boxes,car stereo and so on. argh, so frustrtating.

Ok so I have 2 Audiobahn 12" subs in my car, I'm only running an 750 watt amp (that already has one channel blown). I have each sub in its own box too. Just recently only one of my subs stopped working, I messed around with the wires a little bit and then it started working again, but it wouldn't hit as hard as the other sub did. Now it has stopped working as good as it did before again, like if I place my hand on the speaker i can feel it vibrate to the music while the other sub that is working fine I can just look at and see it vibrating to the music. I just need to know if just that one speaker might be blown? If so, why would only one speaker blow and not both? And if it was blown, would it even work at all? I need help here, please people :)

this is an announcement! your woofer is not blown, as you have said you fiddle with the wires a little bit and it came back on. 2 problems:1 the tinsel connecting to your terminals for positive & negative have broke lose and need to be solderd again. 2 that same tinsel did the same thing to the back of the cone. if you have the warranty take them back. if you bought them from an independant dealer; to keep your business he'll give you another one. this is common with kicker L5&L7 woofers as to audiobahn.alpines are good but ;also get the rightamp for those . next time you purchase an amp, make sure your volume is set evenly. if bridged, consider the wiring and type. if series; make sure you have them set for the right ohms.

What does it mean when a car with shady people inside pulls up to you and says: "Do you want to buy stereo speakers? I'm delivering stereo speakers and they accidently gave me an extra box of stereo speakers its in my trunk!"

This happen to me almost verbatim 3 times when I am walking down the street some where. It happened in Tucson, Arizona , Pomona, California and even Newport Beach.

Sounds like they want you to join the other three dead bodies in the trunk!
