Car Stereo Speakers Wire

I am interested in buying some new 6X9's for the back of my car and some new 6's for the doors, and maybe one sub. I don't want a big bangin system, just something with a little more power and sounds good. Any ideas on what type of amp (2 channel, 4 channel), do I need a crossover, that kinda thing. Any suggestions??

A nice way to start that's easy on the budget but allows future expansion would be this:

Purchase a 4-channel amplifier, decent door speakers, and a single 4-ohm subwoofer and box.

Wire the amplifier so that two channels are used to run the new front speakers, and the rear channels are bridged to run the subwoofer.

Leave the rear speakers stock, and leave them hooked up to the head unit's rear speaker outputs.

Almost all 4-channel amps include built-in crossovers these days, so no separate crossover network is required. Pick an amp that gives you an option of high-pass or low-pass filtering.

I know it's natural to think of new 6x9's first, but they're by far the least important component. Most of your sound field will be created by the front speakers, whatever you do. The function of the rear speakers is to provide a "fill" effect (which stock speakers can do as well as after-market) and to provide bass (which will now be done by the subwoofer). In other words, you won't get much return on your investment if you replace them, and the money saved can be applied to better front speakers.

I have a 1984 toyota supra and i bought new speakers, stereo and installed new speaker wire (14 gauge with just red and black wire) and i don't know how to install the new speakers and stereo. any help, or a referral to a website that can help would be great.

i have a car stereo and would like to wire it to my moped how do i do it? and also have 2 speakers what colour wires go where? thanks luke.

The stereo will probably have 2 power wires, the red will go to the + side of the battery, the black to the- side. If the stereo is designed for 4 speakers the speaker wires will be paired in colours with one having a stripe so, red and red with stripe are for one speaker. When you have paired these off you shoul be left with 1 remaining wire, this, along with the red should have a line fuse fitted and goes to the ignition switch to be connected to the accessory or aux contact. Make sure that you check all connections with a testlight as you go.

I found this one here: http://www.modifiedlife.com/1994-nissan- sentra-car-radio-stereo-wiring-diagram/ but it says there are three Pink wires. There's not even three pink wires coming out of the car.

The chassis/clip has been removed (by previous owner) and all that is left is the wires. All that is needed is a list of the colors and what they go to. Thanks.

How do electronic stores and car audio stores wire their display stereos, speakers and amps for power? Do they have some sort of converter for 120v to plug into a wall?

thats exactly how they do it , its a converter that they use to power those units
