I have connected thru 3 annalog points in front of my laptop. But only hear the sound from front speakers & subwoofer.the rear ones r not responding. do i need any sound card like creative sound blaster & will it work.?
you will require a cross over network.. that handles 50 cycles and up... to do this connect the lab top to a surround sound amplifier... but find the output of the lap top in mili volts so you can buy an amplifier.... that will handle a low output.. i have my tv connected to a pro logic amplifier.. that is 200 watts. you can do the same the amplifier input has to be rated low enough to amplify the small signal it will recieve. ok gilermo.
A test showing you all how amazing these speakers and subwoofer truly are! Linked in this video is my Gaming Set-Up video, so check it out if you ...
I'm looking after the speakers for someone for a while and wondered if it was possible to use them with my bog-standard sound card. I understand I wouldn't be able to use the surround sound capabilities, but can you use them as normal speakers?
Yes. All you need is a simple adapter. I do not know exactly what plugs your speakers take input from, so I cant get you an exact link, but you should be able to find them on RadioShack's web site. If you have doubts, your local RadioShack (or similar store if you don't have one) should be able to help.
That said, you can get a sound card that supports surround sound for about $40. Since the adapter will probably set you back $5 anyways, why not just go for the good sound?
Optical cables transfer the signal using light, thus completely eliminating any chance for RFI, EMI or ground loop interference
Toslink Digital Audio Cable provides you the cleanest possible signal, even at extreme volume levels
Connect your DVD, CD, Mini Disc, or Game Console System for clear, full and rich detailed sound
The stylish PVC HEAVY 5.0mm JACKET helps prevent cable damage and adds flexibility and durability for years of listening pleasure
GOLD-PLATED FERRULE prevents corrosion and provides for maximum protection of the fiber tip
I received the above speakers sold with a Dell computer several years ago. It consists of 2 front, 2 rear, and one subwoofer, and has always performed well.
I built a new computer with the above sound card. I have been unable to get sound to come out of the rear speakers. I have downloaded instructions for the speakers at http://www.proaudiosuperstore.com/pdf/al tec-lansing-ada745-instructions.pdf and the instructions for the sound card are at http://us.creative.com/support/downloads /download.asp and have tried multiple configurations without success.
I know that the rear speakers work because there is sound when I plug them into the port for the front speakers. Basically, I can't find a port on the back of the card that will drive the rear speakers. Anyone had a similar problem?
Go to the Soundblaster (Creative) Mixer console, advanced mode, and select 5.1 speakers. For some reason, if you have an abnormal shutdown, it can revert to 2.1. I don't know why, it just does.
Take care, Keith.

I think i have it plugged in right but i just dont know what to do.
I only get sound out of the 2 front speakers and the sub not the center one or the rear left and right ones. What do i do?? Is it settings or what
k so what exactly do i need to do
i want to play music from like i tunes??
What are your trying to play back? It could be that the media you are playing back is not 5.1 encoded and is only 2.0 encoded, if the media is encoded in 5.1, you may need to configure your sound card's settings
EDIT: What version of iTunes do you have? I heard from whirlpool forums (below in sources), that there is a problem with iTunes 7, if you have iTunes 7, try downgrading to iTunes 6 if possible
There was somebody on aqua-soft forums that found a way to convert the files then get 5.1 that way
You may also what to check your Quicktime settings
I have a Creative external 24 bit Audidgy sound card & 5.1 Creative speakers. If I upgrade to Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Elite Pro which supports 7.1 speakers will the 5.1 speakers work with 7.1 supporting sound card, or will I lose sound quality?
Of course, only less cables to connect...
