Interesting FAQ about subwoofers or speakers/distotion/clipping and wattage etc...?
MA Audio Super Bass

SPEAKER FAQs and ABC's...
This page will provide information about speakers and answers to FAQs. It is not particularly well organized at this time. The information presented refers to professional type speakers that DJ's typically use (although much of the info applies to home and car speakers as well). Hopefully it will be useful and will help clear up some mysteries and misconconceptoins.Speakers are highly complicated electromechanical devices. The primary purpose of a speaker is to convert the electrical energy from an amplifier to sound (acoustic) energy. Speakers currently represent the weakest technological link in an audio system. Although many speakers of today are very good or even outstanding, there remains considerable room for improvement (compared to other audio equipment).
Wattage Ratings
Often, consumers are attracted to and impressed by speakers that can handle the largest amount of watt........http://www.rocketroberts.com/techart/spk r.htm
click the link to finish the sentence after "watts....."
Thanks sparky.I try to do my homework BEFORE giving advice.Like I said,Ive been out of the car audio scenario awhile and really not to much has changed except higher wattage amps and certain audio brands arent like they used to be.In some cases, quality has gone down tremendously...but in others, there have been improvements. Now that is what Im trying to learn.Which products new are good and which products that have been around are still good.

Excellent find.

I must insist on others to read the article for a better understanding of what really goes on.

Cudos to you and five stars *****.

so i guess what im asking is am i getting all of this for a cheap price is is it going to break it a year or so

Its a monitor that you don't really hear much about, not very common so it be hard to tell you whether there good or not as hardly anyone seems to buy them, from what I seen from the small info on the web there not bad but seem cheaply made also 1 year warranty is dreadful.

I recommend to you the Samsung 2253BW 22" which comes with 3 year warranty parts and labour it is a bit more though priced at $260 but am not sure if you can find cheaper shops as I assume your somewhere in the USA since you talking $ and not £ well there a link to it here http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Samsung-2 253BW-22-Widescreen-Monitor-2253BW/sem/r psm/oid/205808/catOid/-12965/rpem/ccd/pr oductDetail.do

some spec info:

• Flat-panel LCD
• 300cd/m2 brightness
• 2-millisecond response
• 1680 x 1050 resolution
• 8000:1 contrast ratio
• Digital/analog inputs

I think it work out much better to add that extra $30 go for a more reliable common monitor that people use also with 3 years parts and labour you have better peace of mind.

Thanks hope that helps.

Is it more efficient: the computer's volume or the audio's volume?

Let's say I'm watching a YouTube video. Would it be more energy efficient to adjust the volume on the video, or turn up the speaker on my computer? Would the same answer apply when using earphones?

Thank you in advance!

Turning up the volume of the video will be more energy efficient as it just increases the digital signal that sends to the speaker which turns it into audio signal. Turning up the speaker volume will increase the energy transmitted to the speakers which sort of amplifies the digital signal, thus it uses more energy to get a higher volume.

Where is the main audio fuse located on a Sony big screen t.v. and how hard is it to replace?

I have a 52", (I think), Sony television and my son accidentally touched the surround sound speaker wires together. Now my t.v. has no sound at all. Not even a hum. I've tried to run it through my stereo speakers, dvd, and vcr, but it won't put out anything. It has a setting in the menu for television speakers or external speakers and neither work. I need to know where the main fuse for the t.v. audio is and how hard it is to replace. The television repair guys in my city won't work on big screens so it's up to me. I miss my t.v. so any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. It's a Sony Color Rear Video Projector, manufactured in March 2003, model # KP-51W3500. On the front panel it says Energy Star and TruSurround by SRS.

Conn 502 on the G board is your audio's power supply output...Since there is no KP-51W3500, I converted it to KP-51WS500....

The power supply will have the fuse on it MOST LIKELY...but it can be on the A board where the CN502 wires go into.....

The G board is the stand up board on the extreme left side, the A board is the lay-down board on the Extreme Right...and the Audio IC is located Wayyyyy back in the Right --Right corner of that board....

And I don't believe the guys in your city won't fix Projection units.....
You're doing this to save your money....

And while you THINK you're Mr Fixit, you'll see why we are the most cost efficient choice between DIY 'ers and the experienced....
