Can u make a speker box for your car using house stereo speakers?

I have two house speakers and I was wondering if they would work as car stereo speakers if so what would be the best way to go about doing this like making a box or something

most home speakers are 8 ohm which on a 4 ohm amp would get little power, also speakers for the home are designed for a large are vs. a small area for a car.
it will work but putting too much effort into this project is not worth it.

Can you put house stereo system speakers in your car?

If so how and would you need an amp if they are really big speakers?

Usually no not without some trouble. Most home speakers are 8 ohm and most car stuff set to run 2 or 4 ohm. It could turn into a big headache.

house speakers with a car stereo?

I have a pontoon boat, and I am trying to put a stereo in it. And I was thinking about instead of going with a marine 6 1/2" going with a pair of bose 151 outdoor speakers(older model not the se). The price isnt to bad comparitively and the sound quality out of the fully enclosed 151s is alot better. I am worried about ohms and maybe wattage compared to a house stereo. Will it sound close to as well using a car stereo? I dont want to use an amp and those speakers say rated for 40 watts I believe. which doesnt sound like much for a car stereo, but a house stereo 40 watts may be considered more. Any experts on the subject with an opinion appreciated.. tia

Your car stereo it rated at 4 ohms nominal, it is likely, and unless I am mistaken, many Bose speakers are rated as 4-8 Ohms nominal (Bose never seems to give complete specs). My guess is that the speakers operate at 6 Ohms, and therefore your car stereo will be delivering less power to them than an equivilent 4 ohm speaker. I have no doubt that the speakers can be used, my only concern would be that, as most decks really make around 10-15 watts RMS, the 151's are going to be underpowered for the noisy boat environment. I would suggest finding an inexpensive amplifier capable of 50 or so watts a channel to complement the speakers.

Need to listen to a stereo inside house, with speakers in shed 50ft away. How without expensive copper wiring?

Trying to keep this project around $50. Any wireless options? There are several components connected to the strereo system with music that would be listened to in the shed. I also need to keep the speakers inside running normally. There is still room for "B" speakers on the amp.

If I understand you correctly... the stereo is in the house... but you want to listen to it using speakers out in a shed, without moving the stereo.... (The question, as written, could also mean you want to hear the speakers placed out in the shed, all the way into the house, lol)

Realistically... for less than $50 you could purchase a used stereo at a yard sale, and stick it out in the shed.... hehehehe....

Wireless stereo speakers can be expensive... check these out - http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.j sp?kwCatId=&kw=wireless%20stereo%20s peakers&origkw=wireless%20stereo%20s peakers&sr=1
Some of those are 'weather proof' too... handy if you wanted to place them around a patio, for example.

Here are several on Ebay auctions right now... most are well over $100, though you might find a bargain - http://search.ebay.com/wireless-stereo-s peakers_W0QQfkrZ1QQfnuZ1QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ3 2

Here are some more -

I think good copper wiring would probably be cheaper... you can bury it in conduit to make it less obvious.... and, may even provide better quality.

As I already mentioned.... purchasing a second hand stereo might be the fastest and cheapest alternative.

Good Luck
