I have a PC thats 5 yrs old and has 512 ram and 40 gb hard drive i need a new comp bad ... its a dell demension 2400

Question if i have an HD monitor will i be able to play HD Dvds?

Not really, and i would not pay more than $370-400 for this system.

you will need a HD-DVD/blueRay drive to be able to read high deff DVD's

also, your screen will display the content at its highest resolution, if you have a high deff screen it will show at 1080, if not it will scale down to the proper resolution

without the model number for the monitor i cant tell you what that resolution is.

My main uses are goona be like video converting, watching movies, and music, and ocasionall gaming on battlefield 2 and cod4. But mostly for watching movies, and music, and TV(i hear i can do this with the TV tuner)
I was thinnking of isntalling XP on it when i get it, i never wanted vista. Also, is the video card really that bad? Right now i have a geforce 6800 128MB.

Will it run BF2 on high and COD4 on like medium settings?

the computer is good but Microsoft's Vista still has lots of bugs fix.

ok so far this is what i thought and yeah i heard vista blows with that being said when are they making the new OS??

This will not be the answer your looking for, but VISTA is horrible. If you want to buy a PC, I would wait until they start shipping with windows 7,

I am on the HP Store looking at a new gaming computer, what do you guys think of this. I copied and pasted it from the checkout list, not going to buy it yet. The price comes up to about 1,300 which is the max I plan on spending. Also if anyone can answer this, how much better is a NVIDA GeForce GTS 250 graphics, compared to a 230 and 210?
