In Wall Audio Speakers

Just got a set of these speakers, can't wait to try them out...

I like mine. Take care to not place them in walls with fiberglass insulation. The fiberglass can eventually cut through the exposed portion of the speaker cone.

BACKGROUND: I'm a newcomer to surround sound, in process and replacing old crt tv and doing some in-wall wiring

MY GOAL: above-average in-wall speakers and audio receiver

Which speakers should I use for front, rear, center, etc.? I looked at the "surround sound in a box" deals but they don't come with in-wall type of speakers, so I don't know where to begin.

You could easily spend several thousand dollars on in-wall speakers if you wanted to.

I personally think the best sounding in-wall speakers I've heard are JBL. But everybody's taste in what sounds good is different. It's best to listen for yourself & buy the speakers you think sound best.

Excluding expensive audiophile equipment, Yamaha has the best surround sound receivers on the market. Denon & Onkyo are also good. Sony has the worst surround sound receivers in their price range.

I just had custom cabinets installed and my AV guy is suggesting a Proficient Audio LCR in-wall speaker as a center channel. Seems odd to me as it isn't specifically a "center channel" speaker.

Is this common? Can you use an LCR Proficient Audio speaker as a center channel? Am I losing anything by doing it this way?

I like the two way LCR...if they made a 6 or 8 inch with a tweeter, I'd go for that too...the overall design of the LCR is why he suggested it, adjustable tweeter in it...

If you are a audio gear head this question should make since to you. I have an existing application that has speakers and traditional volume controls. All of the systems use cat-5 at the controllers, I need a system that use the existing wire for the controller and the speakers. please help.

Sorry i really dont think you can use your spkr cable as a controller thers no way to multiplex or use as both a spkr and controller.If you have a multi room reciever and a rf remote you can carry the remote around and change the inputs that way.So you can watch tv in the living room and listen to the tuner or cd or tv ect.
