i have a 330w JVC stereo. (speakers and reciever) But obviously when i blast my stereo up all the way i am putting my speakers in danger.
I currently can buy 2 speakers for the HX-77 model very cheaply. Litterly just a couple bucks. These speakers can support 520w of power. Would this work and would the sound be any clearer?
its a home stereo that is used as a party stereo. People ask me to dj (sorta) partys.
520watts? Is that PMPO or RMS. Peak music power output is good for short bursts but RMS, well it is like having extra juice in reserve. Rule of thumb: Your speakers should be capable of accepting the maximum music power output of your stereo, otherwise you will end up with two blown speakers. I see your new unit is rated at 520.
If you need to know more please visit this page and enter the dispute between RMS and the much hyped PMPO.

I've tested each speaker and they both work but not at the same time. HELP!!!!!
Testing both speakers, each one separately, and finding that they do work clears the speakers of any fault, so the problem does lie in the JVC stereo.
First, check your connections. Make sure that they are made properly without any stray wires causing a short and so on. Also make sure they are connected to the proper amplifier outputs.
You could also try a different set of speaker cables, just in case.
Also double-check your settings to be sure they are proper.
If everything is in order yet there is still a problem, the amplifier may require service.

I have a 1995 JVC stereo receiver, 2 Sony tower speakers and a Sony XBR4 42" LCD. In addition, I have an HD DVR cable box.
I should start by saying I don't know much about connecting components, so I'm kind of trying to use common sense but that's about all I've got in terms of knowledge.
What I've done is to connect the stereo receiver to the cable box with an RCA cable. through the audio out, and the other end to the stereo receiver through the video sound/tape 2 spot. When I hit the video sound button on the front of the receiver, I can toggle between the radio tuner and the sound from the TV. The problem I'm having with this is that when the TV sound is coming through the speakers and the TV, it sounds like I'm in a sports stadium listening to the announcer - a really annoying echo sound.
I don't know if I have it hooked up wrong, or if I should plug the cable in somewhere else on the receiver, or what! Any suggestions will be tried out & appreciated.
Thanks!
Maybe your hearing both the TV sound and the stereo receiver sound, which are possibly not in sync. Try turning down or muting the sound on the TV to see if that is the problem.
I keep my TV sound turned down and only use my stereo sound.
Other than that, being in the tape2 spot shouldn't be a problem on the receiver end. The only other thing would be the cable box not working as it should. You might also eliminate that thought by unhooking the RCA plugs from the cable box and hooking up to the back of the TV via the audio out and see if that is any better.
Good luck

Why is that? I bought cables on ebay that connect to the back of the JVC stereo through the AUX connections. I get radio sound in the front speakers and I get ipod sound in the back speakers. please help me
try checking your head unit adjustment and see what your AUX settings are, if it says something like AUX REAR, that may be the prob, I have a Pioneer and I can change my aux.
if that doesnt work did you try adjusting the balance/fader, maybe in aux mode it has a diff setting
good luck
I have an older JVC stereo system and want to hook up wireless outdoor speakers to it, but the JVC has the old style wire clamp system for the speakers. Is there some sort of adapter I can get?
I have the transmitter, there's just no way to hook it up to the stereo, because it does not have output jacks.
You need a speaker level to line level converter:

This one is for car stereo but it will work for a home stereo too.
