Kenwood Surround Sound Speakers

i have a kenwood sorround sound that i just got from a friend. i hooked it up and it worked realy good.. i wanted to hook up a nother speaker and when i did that i touched the 2 speaker wires together and i blew the fuse. so i toook it apart and wraped the fuse with a piece of aluminalfoil and put it bak together becuas.e i did not have any fuses.. i pluged it in the wall and it started smokin so i unpluged it real fast and left it unpluged for a few minutes and pluged it back up and it came on but there is no sound.. everything works but u cant hear no sound wat so ever.. i need some help cause i have no clue wat im doing

kenwood home speakers

i have a Kenwood amp / surround sound and i have 4 speakers but am only using two, each speaker had 4 cables red black and blue and grey, my amp had 5 ports for the speakers; like So it had 6-16 om which my speakers are.

Basically i was wondering if i can use the same port for two speakers and weather this would affect the amp / speakers and what the hell are the colours about????!?!?!

look Kenwood amp for sound system 5.1 2 speaker front 1 speaker center 2 speaker back and 1 for sub i think your speaker doesn't work with this amp correct or try to used red and black cable only

i have a kenwood type of suround sound, and i want to hook it up to my laptop.. but my lap top only has a place for headphone and microphone. and my surround sound has a red white and yellow jax, and that want go in to my lap top.. how do i hook it to my pc.. i dont care how u do it is long as i can here sound come out of the speakers..

You will need to plug it into your laptop's headphone jack and connect it to one of the RCA inputs on your receiver.

i just bought a Kenwood surround receiver. its a VR-6050 model.

i connected every speaker to its proper connection. but i wont get no sound from the both rear speakers or the center speaker either.

i turned on the surround mode, and the mixer,. but all i get is Stereo Mode. no matter what i do i only get sound from the Front speakers.

anyone know how to get surround sound on this gotdam radio ?

because the manual is no help

and yes i have a DVD connected to it.
and i still wont get no sound.

but my old surround sound always gave me full surround sound to any type of things i woould connect to it. idk why this one wont do the same. its tarting to piss me off

Do you have a source with surround sound? For example a DVD player?

If you have, did you connect it to the receiver via a s/pdif cable (coax or optical?)

Did you set the player to output in Bitstream?

Your receiver may also have a DSP mode to take stereo and make a virtual surround - check for Dolby ProLogic.

I have a Kenwood Graphic Equalizer KE-597, Stereo Cassette Deck KX-W597, Compact Disc Player DP-R797, & a Audio Video Surround Receiver, all with 5 Speakers. I needed some help on wiring and cable connections. I want to have Surround Sound to my tv through my speaker system. HELP! I lost my manual...

if you can, go in through the pre-amp(equalizer)from the out of the tv (either a/v outs or if your modern, you may have something nicer, but im betting rca jacks on the tv and eq. if you dont have these hookups, then youll probably have fiberoptic bla bla or like that spdif or whatever it is. but if you have these connections on your tv, then you need to go to the surround reciever to either in or audio in. then there will probably be like a dozen other ins as well for your dvd and 'puter etc. most puters have a surround signal and assignable jacks. kenwood will also have like stereo aux in so you can hook up a stereo analog to digital in to the reciever.
just match your plugs, out from tv to in on source or tv or audio in etc on the eq or the reciever. but eq's are cool. you can use them to bump the surround levels when they seem recorded low. nice system by the description.
