What size speakers do i need for my land rover discovery 2001? Where should i get them?
yellow sound

so my discovery came with this awesome 900 $ touch screen cd player with ipod connection and everything else i llove it. But i am looking to purchase four speakers for it i want it to sound incredable with bass and everything but do i really need an amp and or subwoofer how much do you think they would be and which ones should i get?

Enter your vehicle info and it'll show you what sizes you'll need.
For some decent, high quality bass, check into an MTX Thunderform. They'll fit in the rear corner, out of the way. 200watts rms, downfiring woofers, I'm drooling.

Good Luck!

what subs, amp(s), and door speakers should put in my 04 land cruiser?

I would like them to be not too expensive but loud and would sound very good in my car. Also I want twelves. leave links if possible

My first choice would be for Polk audio speakers with tweeters in the front and full-range speakers in the back. Those are incredible speakers and depending on the size of the fitment in the doors your car will be like a surround sound movie theatre. Those will be between $150-300 all together. I'm guessing you have an aftermarket headunit or there is already A/V input outlets in your headunit which probably is a 7" double-din screen. If not then you should get one, but its around $300 at the cheapest price. To go with those you should get a pair of Alpine Type R subwoofers (dual 4 ohm) with a Hifonics BXi1208d amplifier. Together those will cost around $400. Installation is another $300 with a box and wiring, so all together look to spend around $1200 or more for a nice sounding car. My first poem, sound of silence.?

The sound of scilence, empty and cold
The sound of waves, crashing to the shore
The sound of trees, swaying in the wind
The sound of birds, whistling in the trees
The sound of Monkeys howling, and lions roaring
The sound of man, the first words spoken
The sound of woman, the first to each other
The sound of shame, footsteps in the distance
The sound of building, trees falling and the frist destruction
The sound of community, as we first band together
The sound of cities, trade and languages of foreign tongues
The sound of Blacksmiths hammering and church bells ringing
The sound of trumpets, castles and kings, as they stood over the land
The sound of chaos, as war and anarchy ravaged the land
The sound of sails flapping in the wind.
The sound of Creativity and ingenuity
The sound of fading darkness, as art and science prevailed
The sound of music, as the notes dreamed from the composer's mind came to being.
The sound of death, as disease ravaged the land
The sound of slavery, as one man put himself over another
The sound of slaughter. Those who don't have what they want, take it
The sound of revolt. As rebellion and freedom came to be.
The sound of horses along cobblestone paths.
The sound of picks against rocks, and coughing workers
The sound of factories, steel on steel, and many men talking.
The sound of radios, one voice leading the world
The sound of motors, out with the old, and in with the new
The sound of television, flickering to life
The sound of bombs and gunfire, as lives are taken by the thousands
The sound of guitars strumming and drums drumming, opposing the death.
The sound of speakers, microphones and recording equipment, spreading the noise to every house and car in the world
The sound of cars, backed up in city streets.
The sound of phones ringing.
The sound of Lies and deceit, corruption and misinformation
The sound of hurt, as the world screams in agony
The sound of the oppressed, the broken and beaten, and the sound of those who want to return to science

I don't care if you like it, love it, hate it or just stopped reading half way through, I just want to hear why.
If you didn't catch it, the sound of hurt is 9/11

That was, how do I put it, very deep. But you know sometimes when something's so deep that no one can understand it but the author? You found a really good balance.

The only thing is that this would be really good if you changed the structure. It kinda gave me a headache to read 'the sound of' 50 times. It would take a lot of work, but I think it'd be worthwhile to change it so maybe only the first and last lines had 'the sound of.'

sometimes a word repeats, like land in
The sound of trumpets, castles and kings, as they stood over the land
The sound of chaos, as war and anarchy ravaged the land
You don't want to make two lines end in the same word and if possible, not even contain the same words. (except for words like 'and', 'the', etc. )

But I, as the reader, was able to catch on very quickly to where you where going with the timeline. I think it's a clever and though-provoking idea.

And one last thing - I think you mean 'and the sound of those who want to return to silence' at the end. ? If not, I think it would sound better.

Overall, awesome poem, great message.

why won't my aftermarket stereo work on my land rover?

i bought a dual xdvd8181 for my land rover and i had to connect it manually. the power worked because it turned on fine but no sound came out of the speakers. i know which wires i had to connect to but no sound would come out. any help?

if you have a land rover why get low quality brand like Dual?
but chances are is that the truck has a factory installed amplifier for the speakers and when you changed the radio the new one isn't sending power (remote wire) to the old amp so it isn't pushing the speakers
you will need to send power to the old amp, or rewire (run new wires) all of your speakers to the back of your new radio

Cell phone interference on radio, speakerphone (land line), computer speakers etc?

Hi,

Just as my cell phone is about to ring, I notice a bussing sound on my car radio (if I am driving), or a speakerphone (during a meeting).. sometimes even on my radio alarm clock.

Why is this? Does this mean that these devices "know" of an impending call a fraction of a second before the cell phone??

Thanks
Nick

It's common to hear that buzzing sound if you keep your cell phone too close to your stereo, computer speakers, or another phone. Nothing to do with the quality of your cell phone.

  • Speaker + subwoofer - PlanetCricket Forums

What do you think? It got good ratings - the only issue seems to be that you can only adjust the bass from an equaliser, but that doesn't bother me much, since once I've found a good level for bass, I leave it alone. The only thing I need to know is whether they're magnetically shielded (both the speakers and the sub), since they'll be very close to the PC/monitor. Thanks for your replies, guys. The speakers/subwoofer will be quite near the PC - a matter of inches - but since they're PC speakers and they're Logitech, you'd imagine they'd be magnetically shielded as a matter of course. Hopefully they're not too old a model - they should be on Logitech's own site if not - where they'll have...
