MTX speakers or Polks?
01/13/07 Setup

I'm only familiar with MTX subwoofers, MTX amplifiers, MTX bass slammer boxes, and mostly anything Kenwood. I know cheaper brands and how they compare to JL and other audio companies that are higher in class. My question is this though: I want to get a set of MTX speakers because I want my whole car to be MTX audio. I am going to run two 4" speakers in the fronts, and two 6X8"s in the rear of the truck. The wattage of the 4" speakers are 35w each, and the 6X8's are 60w each. I'm running them to a 2-channel amp that runs 300w to each channel, so the power is there. Will that be loud enough for me? I know MTX speakers are good, but is 190 total watts loud enough to hear the music over my 1200w speakers? Thanks and let me know if I should go Polk audio instead of MTX audio. I like Kenwood speakers, but I want my whole car MTX right now unless it won't sound good.

Speakers:
MTX TDX6802
MTX TDX4002
if these aren't the best, then what speakers sound the best? I'm looking for good mids and highs, and a very crisp and clean sound with little to no distortion.

I had MTXs in the past and eventually changed to Pioneers throughout the interior and a Boston Acoustics 12" G5 sub in the trunk. The Pioneers have great range and sound, but if you have your heart set on MTX, go for it, they definitely aren't going to disappoint you, especially if you are coming from stock speakers.

JL AUDIO AMP AND SPEAKERS are they worth the money that they cost??
IMG_7211

I HAVE A 95' GMC EXTENDED CAB THAT I WANT TO THROW A NICE SYSTEM INTO. MY PLANS ARE TO HAVE THE REAR SEATS REMOVED AND HAVE A NICE CUSTOM BOX BUILT. MY QUESTION IS THE FOLLOWING, ARE THE JL AUDIO SPEAKERS AND AMPS WORTH THE PRICE THAT THEY COST?? A BUDDY OF MINE HAS A COUPLE OF 15" MTX 7500 SPEAKERS WITH A SONY XPLODE 2000 WATT AMP AND THAT SOUND VERY GOOD!! BUT I WANT TO OUT DO HIM ( BRAGGING RIGHTS). I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THE JL AUDIO 12W7 WITH THE JL AUDIO 1000/1 AMP, AND I WANT TO KNOW HOW MANY W7'S CAN THIS AMP HANDLE, OR IF IT CAN ONLY HANDLE 2 SHOULD I GO WITH THE 13W7. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME OUT, ARE THESE SPEAKERS THE WAY TO GO SO THAT I CAN HAVE THE LOUDER SYSTEM???

so you want to be louder then the guy and the best you can come up with is a w7? dont get me wrong, w7s are badass woofers, but there made to both sound good, and give good spl. it sounds like your just worried about spl. 2 w7s would indeed beat his mtxs. so if you want to go that route, then its logical, and you'll accomplish your goal.

however, if i were you, and really wanted to just blow his doors the hell off, i'd get a pair of these.

these are the spl world record holder. there cheaper then a w7, and they'll be a lot louder. the amp/amps is where its going to hurt. 6,000 watts rms combined. thats a lot. you'll need a bigger alt, and defiantly a bigger battery, and you'll need to upgrade the big 3. yeah thats all a lot, but i can almost promise you that you'll win about any SPL competition in your town.

good luck

dual 4 ohms subs and the amp is a 600 watt power akustics
srry its a four channel amp...and i have an apline cd deck ...

Because it's a 4 channel amp, it's most likely the amp isn't 2 ohm stable bridged or bridgeable at all.

With that, your not going to get the power out of the amp you would hope.

There are only two ways to wire DVCs individually and one of those ways will burn up your amp...so to be safe you can wire them like so http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/s parky3489/SERIES-DUAL.jpg to each bridged channel .This will present an 8 ohm load to each bridged channel.

Be sure the amp can be bridged before taking my suggestion.

I need a car audio pro on this one. What kind of speakers should I use with these subs?
MTX Show Vehicle 2008

I got a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Im completely taking out the old stereo and putting in a brand new one with subs and a new head unit and all new speakers. I'm gonna be running 2 300 watt rms MTX subs. The speakers that will fit my doors are 6 3/4" or smaller. The head unit i will have will push 16 watts RMS. How many watts will I need my speakers to handle and will I need an amp. I want my stereo to have a crisp sound and i want to be able to hear all the noises on all the songs with great quality but i want just a little extra bass.

If you want good sound, you'll replace the inferior head unit amp with a good outboard one. That will make any speaker sound better.

If you plan to stick with just a co-axial type speaker, try Infinity speakers. If you want to go separates and money is no object, check out Dynaudio Esotec Systems.
