Music Computer Speakers

UsualIy I receive music from my computer speakers but occasionally, I receive statics instead. What is wrong and how can this be corrected?

It could be the volume the music is playing is too much for the speakers. Lower volume would help this. You could also test the speakers on something else to see if you get static there as well. Also make sure the the wiring and connections are good. Sometimes a pinched wire will be the cause.
It could also be that the sound processor in the computer is not able to handle more complex sounds. The only way to help that is to install a quality sound card. You're probably using the on-board sound that came with the computer. Those are really basic.
Without being able to hear the static you're talking about, it's hard to judge.

It's just a regular Dell computer. I have these Insignia speakers that were given to me. I play a lot of music on the computer. What speaker should I get that would give me really good sound off the computer?

Try the Durabrand usb powered speakers I have a set and they sound very good plus theres no power cord and they look good to there flat with a nice cloth cover you can get them for around 12 bucks at walmart and even ebay

I like listening to music on my computer while surfing. Sometimes sites or pages load too slow to turn off thier sound and other times it's hard to find. Is there a way to use my speakers for internal use and block outside sound?
(Hope you know what I mean)

i am not sure if you could but if it is possible you would have to look either under options for the web browser, the music program, or under control panel. sorry for being so vague.

My cd player/changer is broken, so need a new one. Have a Sherwood receiver. And want new speakers for the computer. Have a little money to spend for a change. Do I scrap the receiver and start from scratch, or can I get something high-powered that's compatible? Was going with a Bose, but everyone here talked me out of that. Said to try kliptsch (sp?) onkyo, or denon. Please help me.
Also have 23" Yamaha speakers for the stereo.

As an audio engineer my golden rule is this, all audio is absolutely subjective. What sounds good to me, may or may not sound good to you. We all hear completely different from others. So take your favorite CD and go out and listen to several system combinations, between receivers, amps, and speakers. Don't buy into what other people tell you is the "best". It's going to be in your house. Pick what you like. And always stay within budget. Price does not always equal quality. As a side note, I usually go with Sony products. They're affordable, and last for many years.
