Music Rear Speakers

i have a logitech 5.1 surround sound system. when i play music on my computer every speaker plays except for my 2 rear speakers. why is this so?

Why do you want music in 5.1? That is just really funny to me. Music in 5.1 is absolutely annoying because music is supposed to be in stereo. Even if you do manage to make all five speakers work it will just sound really weird (I've tried it). Unless you are watching movies (in which case have fun with 5.1 or 7.1) than try sticking to stereo. There is a reason music has not upgraded to a standard of 5.1...because stereo works perfectly for music. In the end I just want to point out to you that your music should not be in 5.1 and unless you have the appropriate sound card I wouldn't even bother messing around with 5.1 and a computer.

i bought a pioneer deh6800mp on ebay but the rear speakers don't play.. sometimes they play after i press a bunch of random buttons like changing from tuner to cd and it randomly plays.. but then when i turn off the car it doensn't play anymore.. its not my speakers because i installed another headunit and it worked fine... all the wiring was double and triple checked to make sure we wired it right.. battery was taken out during installation.. i just don't know why sometimes it plays and sometimes it doens't. mute is off,

if you tried another head unit and it worked....then you already answered your question didn't you?

Don't buy expensive electronics off of ebay! I have learned my lesson...maybe you have now too!

Does anyone know how to get the car audio speakers to produce music from

1. the front?
2. the side of the doors?

Right now,my music comes out from the back.

Older car stereos often have a knob or dial labeled "fader". This adjusts the forward to rear balance of the sound. all the way left only uses the front speakers, all the way back only uses the rear. Newer stereos with an LCD screen may have this labeled in a submenu.

You can use the "balance" adjustment to adjust left to right. Both of these controls are helpful for testing individual speakers, or if you just want sound in a particular area.

is it a setting on my new stereo or a connection mix up?
I have an old Rockford Fosgate 300x amp. All the wiring to the amp is fine. I just had a new stereo put in 2 weeks ago. So if it isnt a setting on my stereo then is it a wiring mix up?

you probably have your wires mixed up. or if you have an amp for your speakers, and an amp for your subwoofer, then you might have the rca cord that is relaying the bass signal going to the full range amps, and the rca with the full range music signal going to the subwoofer amp.

whatever the situation is you are sending the wrong signals to the wrong speakers, so you should check to see why that is. but its more than likely wiring.
