Please rate this song (test-song)! Thanks. Ok, I think this is a very good way to test your speakers. Check it out .... ** 7.1 C Soundscape
Whenever i try to listen to music on my computer the speakers seem to "lock-out"....there's no sound coming from them. I've configured the speakers so that they are compatible with Media player but that does not seem to help. Is anyone familiar with computers?
If it is only Media Player that you are having issues with then I have to wonder if you have muted media player. There is a little speaker icon a the bottom of media player. If you click this it will mute or un-mute the application.

After listening to music beginning April, 2 days later we had no sound. Had just moved house. At previous address had AOL as broadband supplier . Have been told this may have caused a conflict. We swopped to BT. Have dug deep into system/program/driver files. Have asked friends/relations who are 'experts'. Can't afford to pay full repairs at moment. Anyone any ideas please. have been warned I may have to strip to factory settings. Everything else works fine! {Speakers hum so something's getting through - they do work have tested!] Have done defrag and system checks, downloaded spyware checkers etc etc etc. Not daft but feel it!
I think you have an internal problem. It means that there is something wrong inside the computer where the cables are. Open up your computer and clean out the dust in there or see if there are broken cables.
confusedchris, I have sended you an e-mail with another answer.
They usually work fine suddenly one day theres no sound when I try to play music or even the windows login music.
Speakers work I've tested them, but when plugged into PC there's no sound. What do I do I'm getting so annoyed now because I've tried everything.
make sure your sound card is working. also, when i had musicmatch on my old computer, if that volume was turned down, it somehow overrode all other control. for example, if i turned down the volume of a song, i couldnt hear anything else on the computer, even with the volume all the way up.
they work during speaker test, but not when playing music,do I need to install digital i/o,
The program you're using needs to have the option do have 5.1 output. Often times music is only recorded in stereo also, not 5.1 sound. Use a DVD and see if the speakers work how you want them to then. If they don't then it's the speakers. My guess is it's just the music you're listening to doesn't broadcast out of those channels, or the program you're using is only outputting in stereo.
AIX Records Audio Calibration Disc + HD Music Sampler, Blu-ray ...
Aix Records has been a stalwart supporter of the DVD-Audio format almost from its start, as well as for new perfectionist hi-res surround recordings of solo and small group artists - rather than reissues of past recordings in audiophile versions. They soon began offering videos of the recording sessions along with the stereo and multichannel audio. At first these were just 4:3 standard videos without camera movement, but they morphed into double-screen and widescreen visual productions. Unfortunately, the soundtracks for the videos could never be anything better than DTS or Dolby 5.1, even though Aix used the finest equipment and even offered two different mix versions - “Stage” or Audience.”...
