How can I hook up two stereo speakers with two male cables into the back of my computer which has one female?

My mom got a stereo but didn't need the speakers. Each speaker has a male cable to plug into the stereo (one for "left" and one for "right"). But my computer tower only has one female (audio out). Can I get some kind of adapter that will accept both males from the speakers and combine them to plug into my computer tower?

Hi. Radio Shack has a good selection of adapter cables. The computer has a 1/8" stereo jack. Just match the speaker plugs to a 1/8" male.

How do I tell if my car stereo speakers (subs) are blown? One has partialy stopped working?

Ok so I have 2 Audiobahn 12" subs in my car, I'm only running an 750 watt amp (that already has one channel blown). I have each sub in its own box too. Just recently only one of my subs stopped working, I messed around with the wires a little bit and then it started working again, but it wouldn't hit as hard as the other sub did. Now it has stopped working as good as it did before again, like if I place my hand on the speaker i can feel it vibrate to the music while the other sub that is working fine I can just look at and see it vibrating to the music. I just need to know if just that one speaker might be blown? If so, why would only one speaker blow and not both? And if it was blown, would it even work at all? I need help here, please people :)

this is an announcement! your woofer is not blown, as you have said you fiddle with the wires a little bit and it came back on. 2 problems:1 the tinsel connecting to your terminals for positive & negative have broke lose and need to be solderd again. 2 that same tinsel did the same thing to the back of the cone. if you have the warranty take them back. if you bought them from an independant dealer; to keep your business he'll give you another one. this is common with kicker L5&L7 woofers as to audiobahn.alpines are good but ;also get the rightamp for those . next time you purchase an amp, make sure your volume is set evenly. if bridged, consider the wiring and type. if series; make sure you have them set for the right ohms.

When I plug my stereo speakers into my computer, I only get sound from one side. Any ideas?

I already tried the volume settings & balance, tried different programs and such, tried plugging in different sets of speakers (although those might have been broken...)

well.. try to see if you only plugged in the cable half way in or 2/3rds in.. it has happened to me before

Why do my car stereo speakers sound fuzzy on one side when plugged into an amplifier?

They sound fuzzy even with no music playing

Buy a better cable.

Why does only one of my speakers work when I hook up my laptop to my stereo and floor speakers?

Is it just the cable I am using (like one for an ipod), like maybe one of the wires is severed or something, or is there some setup on my cpu that is messed up.

Both speakers work when playing music over the laptop's speakers.

Thanks

You might check the cable, and see if it is broken. You might also want to check the cable and see if it's a stereo cable or a mono cable (which would only put out one channel)

    Stereo Operation

Stereo operation mode is the normal, default mode of an amp. This means that the amplifier provides power to two independent channels. Think of it as two amps in one. Many recent amps can even run two different power/resistance ratings on the two channels at the same time. Usually we run two outputs (left and right) from a mixer, into the two amp channels (left and right), and then into two speakers set up in front of an audience, one on the left, one on the right. This enables an audience to enjoy the stereo effects of music.

    Parallel Operation

Parallel operation routes an identical audio signal of one amp input into both channels. You use this to route a mono input (like a microphone, or mono output of a mixer) into both channels of an amp. It is the same as using a Y cable to split a mono input into both channels. After the input, the amp acts exactly like a stereo mode amp.
