P Audio Speakers

I'm looking at buying some speakers and started looking at polk and wanted to know what people thought about polk. P.S: Looking for door speakers. If you recommend any other brands tell me.

Polk are real good speakers. But you need to go listen for your self Everybody hear differently or desire different things in Loud Speaker Systems. Just know what kind of sound you want and how much power will you need.

Best loudspeaker producer in the world

is there a program that can record the sound coming out of the speakers of my computer without me having to hold a microphone up to it? I have windows xp :P

It iwill record anything your computer plays - when I record things I tend to turn off the Window Sounds (via sounds in control panel) and any noises MSN might play - don't want it to mess up a recording, ha ha.

Edit: Audacity is much more powerful & flexible than Windows recorder, and it will even save to .mp3 formats (any many others).

It will play windows media player and all the system bleeps and boops. but it wont play anything from the internet. such as youtube. Whats going on? It used to play internet audio fine.

P.S. I dont have speakers. Im listening to it through headphones. The headphones worked fine before.

if you are running vista, click the speaker icon next to the clock at the bottom left corner, then click the word mixer. make sure your internet browser isn't muted.

RMS means Root Mean Squared...or in laymen's term...the most wattage the speaker can handle continuously.

hello i hav just updated my computer from CP to vista and my speakers have stoped working, they used to work fine but since iv updated it it just says "no audio output device installed", i have updated my driver already but it just says i have the latest version.

p.s. please dont use pc language please just tell me in laymans thems.

It's difficult to answer without actually looking at the computer. And, I'll assume that you meant you upgraded from XP to Vista, not from CP.

My first guess is the computer itself. Many computers have older hardware and were not built to be compatible with Vista. I suspect that your computer may be Vista capable, but not designed for Vista. The sound card that is inside the computer might not be supported by Vista.

You may need to buy a new sound card that will work with Vista. Not all hardware such as sound cards are able to run on Vista.

If this were a new computer that came with Vista, I'd say return it, but since you did an upgrade, the computer must be older. My 1st suspect is the age of the sound card.

Yes, you upgraded the driver, but it might not be a Vista sound card.

You might try removing the sound card completely, deleting all of the drivers for the sound card. Then, reinstall the sound card, restart the computer, and let Vista find the card and get the drivers itself.
